Tennessee hosted a major DL target for two days early this week, as Top 100 prospect Travon Walker was in town with his family. The 3-technique tackle had dinner at Calhouns with Tracy Rocker on Monday night and watched practice Tuesday afternoon. The Vols are chasing UGA, Alabama and Clemson here, so it was big to get the 4-star recruit on campus for an intimate, multi-day visit.

From Rivals:

When will Travon Walker pop? People have been asking that question for months. Some thought it would happen late in 2017. Many felt he would be committed by now. But, he is still on the open market.

Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee are viewed as the main five for this athletic defensive lineman, so when will he actually commit? He has said "soon" many times, so stay tuned. Walker wants to go into his senior year committed, so it is coming.

DO we have a chance here? Just have not heard much.

Pruitt has been playing catch up from the beginning. We were not in his top5 3-4 months ago and now we are. Time is on our side and the longer he delays the better it is for UT.

Rivals -

Travon Walker is committed to Georgia, but for the second week in a row, he will be visiting a Bulldog rival. He was in Columbia last weekend on an unofficial visit to South Carolina. He is related to the Wonnum brothers who play for Will Muschamp. This weekend, he will be at the Swamp. Florida has not slowed their recruitment down and the Gators need defensive linemen in this class. Walker mentioned a potential official visit to Clemson in two weeks, but that is not scheduled yet. Alabama and Tennessee are two others he may visit officially. His official visit to Georgia is scheduled for December. He plans to sign during the Early Signing Period.

LAST OFFICIAL VISIT: "It will be Alabama or Tennessee. I am not sure who it will be yet or when, but I am sure it will be one of those schools that gets it. Coach Tracy Rocker was at my game Friday and we have always had a strong relationship. I have known him since he was at Georgia, so we go back a while. He called me as soon as he took the job at Tennessee, so we have always been in contact. With Alabama, they just keep telling me they need defensive linemen in this class. They see me in their defense at end, tackle and linebacker. They keep telling me about how they can just development. I just have to decide soon which school I am going to visit."

RIVALS REACTION
Walker is going to take his official visits. He has said numerous times that he plans to take all five, but still sign in December. South Carolina received the first visit over the summer. Georgia is expected to get the last one in December. Clemson is up next. The Tigers were Walker's No. 2 school when he committed to Georgia. It will take a lot to change his mind — Walker admits that. He is still taking visits though, so he is one to track until he signs his letter of intent.

Call me a hater but I’m not putting a lot of stock in this bobby guy. I’d gladly eat my words if it comes to pass that he’s legit, but just seems like someone trolling.

Blame mit beaver for my thinking if need be.
