‘23 GA DL Tyree Weathersby (Tennessee)

Is that all that meaningful this far out? The recruit "average" will probably project a 10-20 finish. Not knocking it... and I'm ready to see the Vols win more on game day than NSD... but these commits won't put UT in the top 10 or 5.
It's fun to calculate.

Land Mauigoa and Seldon it might be hard to not finish top 10

When you use the calculator, it has ethan davis as 0, I tried to take him off and put him back into the class. I think it’s a glitch on their calculator
Yeah I adjusted for that.

When you go to the calculator Davis is off, but the rankings page accounts for his rating. So our rating is like 198 right now. I added Conyer and Tyree and it went up 18 spots so it's like 216 with them, which pushes us ahead of Cinci at 207 and behind UGA at 219.

I think the recruit average is one of those details that gets vastly overlooked. Take last year for example. TAMU signed the #1 class right? But what team had the highest per recruit average? Bama.

Look at the current 247 rankings. Teams like TT, Arky, Louisville and Northwestern are above us and Bama. Yet our per recruit average is better than theirs. OSU is ranked #1 but Bamas per average recruit is tops in the nation.

I think we will need some of our 3* guys to get bumped up to 4* to finish Noah in the top 10 even with Mauigoa and Seldon.
As long as we land Mauigoa, Bradley, 1 or 2 of Osborne/Searcy/Davis/Walker, Seldon, 2 of Jackson/Matthews, and Umarov along with the assumed locks Conyer, Smith, Weatherby, Whitson (if he’s eligible), and Leacock I don’t care where we finish in the rankings

I’ve run several mock class scenarios using 247’s class calculator. Using the team rankings from 20-21 as a guide:

If we land Mauigoa and Bradley we are guaranteed to be top 11-13 with just 3 stars occupying the rest of the class. Adding 2-4 4 stars , Seldon, Rico Walker, Ramil, Umarov, Jackson, Searcy, Osborne, someone gets ratings bump, etc gets us to the 6-8 range depending on who the 4 stars are.

We are guaranteed a top 20 class. I’d give us a 70% chance at a top 10 class

Good info. I do think some of our guys are going to get bumps. I mean Pearce got a pretty good bump late last year. Also, we have no idea what’s gonna happen this season. I have always said we will likely finish between 12-17.

Take off Ethan Davis and add Jurrion Dickey. He’s an Oregon commit but he’s the same ranking as Davis
