Apparently one of the ways to get a waiver approval is to say your original team "ran you off" and didn't want you any more. Kirby came out and said that Cox left the team on his own and did not get kicked off the team. Supposedly, this will make it harder to get his waiver approved.

Being ran off is very different than being kicked off. Being ran off means your scholarship is gone and yes that helps a lot

Kicked off means discipline issues

I have no idea which is better or worse for getting a waiver approved. I'm just going by the article that was linked in either this thread or the Cox thread where Kirby addressed Cox leaving the team. The author of the article speculated that Kirby said Cox "left on his own" to hurt Cox's chances to get his waiver approved.

I feel comfortable saying it this way

1) getting kicked off-means removed for discipline issues-means zero chance of waiver

2) leaving on ones own- means a waiver is possible depending on reasons

3) being run off greatly increases a waiver being granted especially if the scholarship was taken away without discipline issues

In the article Kirby specifically said Cox did NOT get kicked off the team... so I'm guessing Mullen & Cox will say that Cox was mistreated in some way.

The kid that transferred from bama to Cincinnati had a run off waiver that saban signed off on.

I think kirby said it this way because he didn't want to ruin the kids career by saying he dismissed him for smoking too much wacky tobacco. To me it seems like kirby had good intentions there. But I know that's an unpopular opinion. I still don't think Cox deserves or will get the waiver.

When the rumors started about Cox leaving UGA, it was the UGA fans that came on VN saying Cox was a cancer in the locker room and also said he had "words" with the coaching staff. The UGA fans were the ones saying Kirby kicked him off the team for insubordination ... not wacky weed. Turns out he was not kicked off the team at all. I would bet that Kirby tells the NCAA waiver committee that Cox left the team because he was beat out as the starting OLB (which sounds like the real reason he left).

Well, that didn't stop JF.

Most of what the posters said about him seemed to be true. They also said he got popped for weed. I'm just saying I think kirby didn't seem to have bad intentions with making it a point that he wasn't dismissed. Because if he was dismissed he would have far fewer options even if he sat a year. I believe the sec has a specific rule about accepting transfers of players dismissed for disciplinary reasons.

So why would Kirby want a 5* to go to the team in the East with the best chance to beat them? Seems to me he would want him OOC. He could still have a career.

I don't think he wanted him to go to a rival. I just disagree with the notion that he deliberately said he was not dismissed in order to hurt his chances of getting a waiver. That makes no sense.

WMNL guys said that the Cincinnati coach was complaining about Harbaugh/Michigan denying a waiver for a backup lineman. Of course, Hairbaugh said they did not. TIFWIW. GBO. ****BAMA.

Harbaugh is Very likely part of the problem with Solomon. If he is so upset about a backup you know he is being a 🍆 with a projected starter

Fine . Attach his denial of the denial to the appeal. See NCAA Harbaugh said publicly it's fine with him.
What's funny is at the big10 media days Harbaugh publicly said he doesn't think transfers should have to sit out a year. But behind the scenes he's trying to block them all. Because he's a real dickhead.

I think it is beyond bad taste for Mullen to comment in any way how another person treats his cox.

He knows that if he publicly states he's for transfers without sitting it will help him with recruits. If it becomes public that he's blocking transfers it will hurt recruiting. It needs to become public if he's indeed obstructing kids trying to transfer.

Fickle said they even brought that speech up in their appeal but it didn't help.
