Edge rusher
Joshua Josephs of North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Ga., has been high on Tennessee for months, and while the competition for him has continued to heat up, that still appears to be the case going into his senior season. Michigan and Kentucky recently have been widely viewed as the top contenders for Josephs, with South Carolina and Auburn — which hosted him on visits in late July — also now in the picture. But sources said his strong relationship with the Vols, who extended an offer to him in March, has put them in good position with Josephs as he moves toward a planned Oct. 1 commitment.
Josephs is planning to take a few more visits leading up to his announcement, including an official visit to Tennessee next month that’s expected to be for either the Vols’ home game Sept. 11 against Pittsburgh or the weekend of Sept. 18, when the Vols play host to Tennessee Tech. He also traveled to Knoxville twice in June. Kentucky is expected to host Josephs on an official visit next month, too.
