Tennessee is the last school to offer. Since the Vols offered October 22, they have gone hard after one of the top uncommitted prospects in Georgia. They have made it clear to him that he is a priority.
Kevin Sherrer was in Rochelle earlier this week and
Jeremy Pruitt will be in town next week to try and close the deal. On top of that, Tennessee will have Tisdol on campus for an official visit next weekend, just days before the Early Signing Period begins on the 18th. Tennessee trending? Yes. And it has been for a few weeks now.
Auburn has not gone away. The coach Tisdol has the best relationship with is
Travis Williams, better known as
T-Will to recruits, and the Auburn linebackers coach was at Wilcox County early Monday. How high is Tisdol on Auburn's board? That is the biggest question. Do the Tigers have room? Has that decision even been made yet?
Tisdol is very familiar with Auburn, so this may or may not be important, but he is no longer taking his official visit to the Plains this weekend. Read into that what you want to. That was the plan this time a week ago, but as of Thursday morning, that visit is off.
The only official visit scheduled now is to Tennessee December 13. Will
Gus Malzahn be in to see Tisdol next week? That has not been scheduled either. An in-home with Pruitt has.
South Carolina has slowly faded in this race. Tisdol lists the Gamecocks in his final three, but it has looked more like a final two for the last six weeks.
Tennessee is recruiting him hardest. His best connection is with Auburn. Heck, Tisdol almost committed to the Tigers over the summer. At one time he was close to committing to the Gamecocks too — before the Vols offered.
Looking in from the outside 13 days before the pen hits the paper, Tennessee is in a very good spot. This recruitment has been very fluid, and if Auburn makes it clear that Tisdol has a spot, this one could get very interesting again. If not, Pruitt and his staff have a great chance to land the All-American.
