Co- DL coaches without a pay decrease for garner. Why not. Especially now that you can have unlimited staff. Anyone who is a great recruiting needs to be brought in or retained.I get the feeling we may move Garner to an off field role, defensive analyst and I think he would do quite well
Move Chop to DL coach.
I’m fuzzy on what the new rules allow or if they’re official. I read the PROPOSAL where a designated support staff could recruit on the road replacing an on-field coach and where support staff could individually coach players. What I’m not unclear about is that $250,000 doesn’t get this done. If he doesn’t need an onfield title, pay him what other programs will cough up to poach him with a clear succession plan to Garner written up. JMOI think you gotta make him an assistant DL coach. $250K per year, do it.
I could be entirely wrong (not likely, but possible) but I don't think Ekeler is going anywhere. That man seems to truly love UT and coaching here. I mean, I guess if someone through a DC role and big ole truck full of money at him he might jump, but he seems to be really happy here.I think what's more likely to happen is that some of our defensive coaches get hired away and Harbin gets promoted. I'd guess Mike Ekeler is prime candidate for that.
Maybe Garner retires, but I haven't actually seen anyone mention that he's retiring, only Willie Martinez has seriously considered it.
He can’t admit that Coach Chop absolutely ransacked their coachesShould be Tenn and they did a really good job on early playing time. It got really interesting last week, he actually told someone, Georgia was probably leading at that point. I still think it will be Tenn and he is good player no doubt.
On TN sellling early playing time
Did a really good job of that with Gass. Really good player here, UGA will be fine, I am sure they will continue to recruit him and see if they can get him to campus any time in the fall.

Now with the rule that you can hire as many on field coaches as you want. I could see us easily keeping garner and moving chop in as assistant d line coach or some made up title and pay him what's he is worth and keep both him and garner. Or atleast that's my hope.I get the feeling we may move Garner to an off field role, defensive analyst and I think he would do quite well
