'25 GA LB Christian Gass (Tennessee)

I could be entirely wrong (not likely, but possible) but I don't think Ekeler is going anywhere. That man seems to truly love UT and coaching here. I mean, I guess if someone through a DC role and big ole truck full of money at him he might jump, but he seems to be really happy here.
I'd be thrilled with that.
I think he's probably primed for a DC role sooner rather than later.

Our OLBs and DEs have been producing at a very high level since he's been here and he's a high energy, likeable guy.

I'm glad this guy knows what committable offers are.

Once we get Sanders

He WaSnt goOd nuff fOr da dAwGs
WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF
These folks are a special kind of idiot down here, all I've heard since we won the cws was baseball doesn't matter, I don't follow baseball.............riiiiight. They'd follow it if they didn't suck at it.

Does that bump us up to 6th in the SEC in class rankings? Thought we were 7th or 8th a while back.

If I ever get barked at again, I'm pepper spraying one of those mfs
I'm with you, my supervisor is that guy. Has to have GA tag on the front of his work truck, he's so bad that other UGA fans make fun of him for it. Every time an apprentice graduates and earns a lineman degree our old CEO would tell them how it wasn't a useless degree like one from uga, but one that is earned. Our old CEO was an engineer from GT, hates uga with a passion........we always got along so well. Miss that guy.

Sounds tough.

It excites me there are Vols in hostile territories (I'm in Birmingham myself) able to rub the baseball CWS in everyone's face.

You're right, for people who don't care about baseball, they have some strong opinions about our team 😉 I can't recall how many "Vitello is a Jerk" comments I've heard since we won.

Hey you've got it worse than me, at least I'm not in gumpville. Keep up the good fight bud.

You know these folks down here used to crow about gymnastics too. You follow that but not baseball? Yeah okay. Most fair weather fans in the country down here, no doubt in my mind. As far as Tony, they would take him in a second, just like everyone else would. When they fall off a cliff, and its coming eventually, it'll be just like the 90s down here, not a license plate or hat in sight. I was down here then and their was no such thing as a die hard uga fan back then. More fsu, fla, and Vol swag back then than anything else. I've also saw alot of bammer crap till about 5 years ago. Fair weather fans are all they are.

Further proof that every program HAS SOME. Bet the majority of their fans rolled their eyes at this guy and his like minded buds. Combining ignorance with arrogance IS WHAT IT IS. The amount of air space on this guy by the services should have told them something. We were lucky enough to be his best fit, for whatever reasons.

“Christian Gass is one of the most physically gifted linebackers in the 2025 cycle,” Power said. “He has plus traits. He measured in around 6-2.5, 215 pounds. He has elite arms that measure in a shade under 34 inches and he can really run at that size. He clocked in at 11.3 in the 100 meters as a Junior. You can really see that show up on film. He can run sideline to sideline, and he can rush the passer. We see him do a variety of things and show off his versatility on his Junior film. I think Christian Gass has a very high upside. He is certainly not a finished product, which I think is exciting if you are a Tennessee fan. I think this is a guy who is going to continue to get better and better. He has shown continued improvement through his Junior season, and I think his combination of play speed, range, physicality, versatility and ability to rush the passer presents a really strong foundation for what he brings to the table as a linebacker prospect. Had 68 tackles and 11 tackles for loss as a Junior, and I expect those numbers to go up.

“From a pure traits perspective, there is so much to like about him as a linebacker prospect. It is easy to see why he is so coveted and high on the board of programs that recruit nationally. To that end, I think he is a huge get for Tennessee. A guy who certainly has the athletic DNA at the position. Linebacker will be viewed as an increasingly athletic position. Traits of the position really matter, especially when we are looking at top NFL Draft Picks. I think Christian Gass checks a lot of the boxes we look for at the position. I am excited to see what he does as a senior, but there is no doubt he has a ton of physical talent and is a big pickup for Tennessee as they continue to add blue-chip prospects on the defensive side of the ball, which I think they have done a good job of under Josh Heupel.”

What this means for the linebacker room?

Charles said it best. Gass is an unfinished prospect with an immense ceiling. When Josh Heupel took over in Knoxville, the depth and talent at linebacker was scarce. Now, flash forward in time, and the position is as deep and as talented as any for the foreseeable future. Gass adds a dynamic element to Tim Banks’ multiple defense scheme, as he can play multiple positions depending on how he develops into his frame. Gass has freakish measurables and raw talent and should be a fun chess type piece to move around all across the defense.

So what’s next?

There are several more decisions looming that feature Tennessee. Four-star Safety Shaedy Hayward will commit on July 27th. Four-star offensive tackle Juan Gaston will announce on August 2nd and then all eyes will turn toward five-star David Sanders’ August 17th decision. Onis Konanbanny is expected to make a decision sometime in August, while Jadon Perlotte is expected to announce a final decision sometime in the coming weeks.

The next 4-5 weeks could be massive for us👀
