'25 GA LB Jadon Perlotte (Tennessee)

It is surprising that we don’t really have any edge guys in this class. Feel like it would be smart to get at least one unless they think Okoye behind Herring/Ross will be enough (in the scenario Josephs and Pearce go)

Valid question and you make some good points, but I think we’re good there for the following reasons:

Loftin is an edge unless he gets a lot bigger. I see him staying around 245-250 and staying at LEO. He’d have to add a ton of weight to move to SDE.

I think there’s a very low chance Josephs leaves for the NFL this year. Josephs, Herring, Ross, Okoye, and Loftin is the LEO depth chart heading into next year. That’s a very good and deep group (especially the first 3).

Lastly, we’re in great shape with a bunch of high end LEOs in the 2026 class. We’ll likely sign 2 or 3 in that class.

Very true, plus I believe Gass is kind of a tweener. Not the typical height of the others, but more like a Josephs potentially in stature if he moves from traditional LB.

Agree on all points. Also would add that you have to invest a lot in a top-ranked Edge and because of our stockpile we've developed they have to sit for a year or two. So from a resource allocation perspective doing that again in the 2025 class - especially when as you said we're in a tremendous position at that spot in 2026 - isn't optimal.

That said, I would love to see us try to add a developmental Edge. We've tried with Tobi Haastrup to some degree but it doesn't seem like there's traction there. Julius Holly doesn't fit that description because he chose Michigan over UGA, but I'd give him a call.

A few others with the types of traits (height, length, etc) I'd consider taking a chance on:

Ya'll forgetting Marion Dye, or do you just consider him SDE? He's listed as Edge, and is very very good.

Is the reason we're not pursuing anymore OL in this class because we plan on hitting the portal hard for them?

I've been disappointed not to hear of us pursuing some OL flips.

Really really hard to flip elite olinemen late. Also possible we’ve decided we need someone from the portal that can immediately help.

Yes he was here as Steve mentioned. I didn’t want to make a thing out of it but it’s why I mentioned in the WR TN would look to some old names at linebacker. He left before the game was over but his parents seemed to be having a good time. I’m still not sure he ends up here as he chose to go elsewhere and Harmon took his spot so to speak. Yes they might add another backer but they have budgets for each position and they aren’t going to double it up for another HS kid in my opinion. We will see where he is and how much he wants to be here.
