He's 6'1" 210 pounds.. so really probably 6', I don't think DL is an option. I'd take five pounds off to help improve speed and like CHiZzLeVOL said make him a Special teams guy.

It has been done.... and UT has had several "6'2"" guys who were actually 5'11 or 6' that played on the DL... and played decent.

Best case he can carry that weight. Otherwise he's a scout team guy.

So either he plays D Line or he's scout team... no way he could be on ST. I also don't remember one 5'11" defensive linemen in recent memory who actually played.

I would have to look at some past rosters. I think Mapu was one.

IMO, that's what he offers just from watching his video. He's slow. IMO, losing 10 lbs would do anything other than make him a smaller slow guy. Nothing against him at all. The guys who man your scout team are vital to a program's success. I just don't see him making any contribution in live games unless he can play a "heavier" position.

Fair, I see a kid like him being good on kickoff team. I don't think he's ever going to be a gunner on the outside but you don't necessarily have to be the fastest in the middle. As long as he can clean up the trash and plug a running lane he would be more than serviceable.

For most coaches today, he would have to be as good or better than 85 scholarship players at that job... hopefully they've recruited better than that .

I'm sure they have but I don't like the idea of starters littering special teams. Just an increased chance of injury.
