The 25 applies to football scholarships. If he’s a 4.0 / 32 act guy, he may be on full academic scholarship somehow, maybe. Either way, because he’s not taking a football scholarship he’s not relevant to the 25.

Walkons must have at least a 1200 SAT, equivalent ACT, or 3.5 (iirc) GPA to receiver academic or need-based aid. If they do not meet those, they either count toward the 25, or can't receive any financial aid. Obviously, specific requirements will vary by school, but these are the NCAA minimums.

Pretty impressive to get a PWO who made All-State. Seems like he isn’t just a Walk-on but immediate depth at a position of need.

You can’t ever stop trying to fill these spots. We will sign 5 this year (not including Ball), and probably 4 next year. We are in the bad position of trying to build (long term) depth and find starting candidates at same time. Given the injury and bust rate, we can’t let up here.
