'26 GA OL Brandon Anderson

And fyi Grant and Sham/LJ3 are not true freshmen
Did i say they were? No. You named 5 true freshman that all haven’t played yet. Warren Satterwhite Ginther Anderson and Perry. You would have included Jeremias Heard if you knew he’d switched from DL to OL. Let’s also forget that last class was the first class that we had without the recruiting investigation going on. Maybe, you should at the very least learn the names of these players you know so much about and how bad they are.

So a guy who will have 2 years of eligibility left ran off a guy with 4 years plus a redshirt year? Not buying it tbh
Pendleton didn’t take his “spot” as much as he took BA’s “money”

You guys gonna have to get with the program today. There’s only so much $ you can spend on a position group. Pendleton is a far better investment. Worry about ‘28 & beyond later.

Sorry I hurt your feelings Karen, at least call me homer troll. Your boy Ellarbee is looking worse than Will Friend(that’s very hard to do). But hey yal ran off kingvol on this very topic so who am I.

This is far from over

So Elarbee doesn’t get any credit for spotting his ability before anybody else? Of course not. And he doesn’t get any credit for developing the relationship, earning his trust, and getting the commit in the first place? Of course not.

He just gets the blame for something that may be beyond his control.

Nor does he get any credit for any good OL we sign 😂. I’m not saying he’s a great OL coach just that in the eyes of some he deserves credit for nothing, ever. Unless it’s bad.

Brian Grant nope
Sham nope
Warren nope
Kid from Colorado nope
Kid from Nashville area nope
Kid from Ohio nope
Max Anderson nope
I’m sure I’m missing several others. This is a problem for Glen. David Sanders MAY potentially save the narrative

Interesting but don’t think it tells the whole tale. Heard showed up out of shape and was injured early in season. I thought he got better over the course of it. Campbell was injured on and off I believe. What was his pff last year? Karic and mays played well. Spraggins was coming off a knee injury and I thought he was serviceable considering. Don’t think any of the other guys played enough snaps to make judgements upon. I’d want to probably see 100 snaps worth and not just in mop up duty against chattanooga.

Reverting to an insult like Karen when someone calls you on your bull is weak. You can do better than that

The homer in me still thinks Heard is a 1st round talent. Also believe Sanders is too talented to not be an impact player. The rest I have no clue about, Jesse Perry does seem to be a hit though. Very disappointed Warren/Sham/LJ3 aren’t making waves yet. Pendleton & Moi just relegated Sham to injury on extra points full time unless one of them plays center. We’ll see

You just said “nope” on Perry. And if you expected freshman Warren to unseat senior Campbell then i can’t help you

Sham, Warren, the kids from various areas, Anderson, all too early to write off. OLine is a developmental position. I wouldn’t normally expect any kid to start on OL before their 3rd season.

Kayden proctor, top 10 player in country out of HS, started for bama as a true freshman, and was awful. Point in case, and he’ll probably still be great and drafter highly.

I’m not saying elarbee isn’t a problem, as we’ve heard it from enough people we kind of trust that he is, at least on recruiting. All I’m saying is what you typed is not a fair assessment at all. It’s too small of a sample size with a not long enough experiment. Sham might start this year. The other early heupel oline recruits were all pretty lowly rated and wouldn’t be expected to see any meaningful playing time until they were upperclassmen, at which point most would be hoping we would have recruited over and brought in transfers of better quality. If you want to provide evidence, the names I would use would be: Nichols and Clipper. Besides that, not too much to judge still, especially given we have one of the best rushing offenses in the nation and have been named to the top offensive line unit list for the past 3 or 4 years running (someone fact check me here - not totally sure but I know it’s been the last 2).
I agree OL is a developmental position. Unfortunately, we keep having to go to the portal to get guys who have been developed elsewhere.

Nope meaning no extensive playing time as of yet. You know how we see other other programs playing true freshmen over walk ons all over the country? Perry looks to have put on good weight so I’m holding out hope on him. Warren is being predicted to be beat out by an early enrollee before spring ball has started so yea that’s disappointing.

That RARELY happens on the offensive line, why are you spreading misinformation? There were literally 3 freshmen offensive linemen in the country who actually had good seasons. And Warren is predicated to be beaten out by fans on this board. That may happen, but there’s zero reason to think a guy who made the Poly Bowl a year ago with the best HS players in the country wouldn’t have a good shot at RT this coming year. If you want to have a statistically correct conversation about this then I’m here for it

Be careful, they may stop calling you a yeti and start calling you troll
Elarbee is great at teaching run blocking, not so much at pass blocking. And we've yet to see any of his HS recruits have significant playing time. I've made my opinion of Elarbee clear. The guy, at the very least, needs help. His own Coach Chop to help him with recruiting and teaching. That's my opinion. People don't have to share it. But facts are facts. We keep having to go to the portal every season for OL help.

Yea it’s pretty cut and dry at this point, sign 4 linemen/ never see said linemen/ sign two to three out of the portal/ original signees transfer down rinse and repeat

You skipped over a couple steps:
1. Some fans complain about not landing transfer linemen
2. Land multiple transfer linemen
3. Same fans complain about always going to the portal for lineman and never seeing HS recruits
Rinse and repeat

I feel like I’ve said this 100 times but here goes again

When this staff first got here recruiting was tough. Kids didn’t to play here for many reasons. We were some what of a laughing stock. OL is a developmental position. RARELY is a freshman or 2nd year player ready to contribute in a significant way

So the first 2 years we didn’t sign a great quality of player at the position. THOSE are the guys that you would be expecting to push for playing time and starting jobs this year. Well, those guys were the best we could get at the time but they aren’t likely to be SEC caliber and most of them are gone.

That leaves us with the 24-25 classes. On paper at least we signed much better talent, so recruiting has gotten better. Those guys shouldn’t be expected by any reasonable person to have started or played significant snaps this past year. Even when elite freshman play on the OL their play usually leaves a lot to be desired.

It isn’t time to judge the 24 class. Not even close to time. If they aren’t contributing in a significant way in the next couple years then you can surely point to a lack of development. Until then we have to plug holes through the portal.

Couldn’t say it better myself

To add to your excellent post OL outside of QB is the most difficult position to play and play well. Just watch NFL and you see so many teams with bad OL Play because it's so difficult of a position. Defensive talent from DL to Lb's all stunting gapping and bull rushing so many think it's just easy and it is not. 5 star 4 star many just don't have it. So I for one am happy with the consistent play that has led to many victories. Yes Glenn like any can get better but the hate you would think the Vols were scoring 10 points game and winning 4 games a year. In CHRIST Alone
