'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

Good stuff, and absolutely love the pic. If Tate chooses anywhere but Knoxville he's going to break Dad's heart. Kind of like if my son chose to play in Athens I'd be pissed.
I'm often surprised the kids aren't at least as close in their fandom. I get it, we've sucked blah blah but my son is still UT through and through. Doesn't hesitate to grab his TN gear anywhere we go, regardless of record.

Tell him how incredible the Bama run has been, his reply:
"Yeah, it's gonna be so sweet when we finally knock them down a notch".
Anyone else is not even an option. I love that boy.

My 7 year old has big power T flag on his bedroom wall. And since he's been four if you ask what school he's playing football for he'll say on command "Tennessee". Even though he could give a rats arse about football right now. He know what makes Dad smile.

Good stuff, did Cade mention the Harvard interest? They were there earlier and doing film on him. That would be a tough gig to turn down, set up for life.
Definitely. If the kid has a legit IVY league offer, and no P5 offers, that's an easy choice to make

I'm a southern snob. I don't think I could do it.. Haaaa...

He mentioned a few schools being there shooting film since Spring started. He did add that nothing serious has came about yet though. Would be an incredibly tough gig to turn down.

Not if you’re posting pics of you using the Washington monument as a ‘measuring stick’ lol
Haaa.. Actually it wasn't me but I have to admit that I was jealous I didn't think of it first...

No athletic scholarships in the Ivy League, so there would be a huge bill to foot.

If we're going to play the Woulda Coulda Shoulda game, then maybe we should just say if Butch had just held onto Pittman instead of going with his Junior High offensive line coaches we would be better off.

Butch Jones could have had Sam Pittman, Knute Rockne and Vince Lombardi and he would have still sucked !!!

Not really, the endowment there is HUGE, they seek out the best and academic grants are quite large
Probably 90% of the people who go to Harvard are on some kind of financial aid. Besides a PWO at one of the Southern football factories also has to pay their own way. If I had a chance to go to Harvard I would go, period. Of course I'd rather go to MIT or University of Chicago.

It’s need based financial aid, not athletic scholarships or academic grants. Last I heard it was tuition free if the parents AGI was under $125K but there’s still travel, rent, food, etc. A student on the hope in TN would probably be out of pocket significantly less vs attending an Ivy tuition free.

he will pay his own way, unless he has an academic scholarship, one would think?

I imagine his parents are well off. Darlington is like 25k a year. It's also a boarding school so if he is doing that it's over 50k a year.

If you are a standout football player you don't pay tuition. It's a reason some of these private schools like Brentwood Academy are always loaded.

Harvard’s undergraduate financial aid policy, on par with those from Yale, Princeton, and Stanford, is among the most generous in the country. If you are eligible for aid, you may also receive an additional standard allowance for travel and personal expenses.-From their website.

Then this-
One of the benefits of a uniquely successful alumni pool is that many give back to the school and make it easier for low- and middle-income students to attend the institution. Today, the school’s endowment of $39.2 billion helps make it possible to offer generous financial aid packages to those in need.

For the 2018-2019 year, the university says that most students from families making less than $65,000 a year attended absolutely free. If you came from a family making between $65,000 and $150,000, you typically have to kick in 10% of your family income or less. Students with families making slightly more also receive considerable financial support from the school.

Hearing from one of the best UGA sources possible that he is set to announce Monday. Would definitely be moving his timeline up
