'20 GA OL Tate Ratledge (UGA commit)

Kid has a relationship for years with Pittman, UGA is losing two tackles next year, and he has spoken and has a relationship with Cade Mays. Not to mention UGA has been winning. They also have offered his friend a PWO spot. We have two bookend 5* freshmen stud tackles to build our line with, so there isnt as easy a path to playing time...

Just saying. As much as I hate to say it, logic says UGA here. His heart would just have to be with UT at this point IMO. Which it could be.

It sucks a bit but OL this time of year is not concerning. Especially with our '19 haul. Would rather have Rogers. Gotta get back into the thick of that one.
I'm not worried either way. Recruiting is about relationships and UGA has had a much longer one with Tate and his family. UT wouldn't even be in the conversation if not for Pruitt and his staff taking the Tennessee job. Chaney coming back helped some but doesn't sound like it was enough. Would be a really nice get but if he chooses UGA, best of luck to him. I have no doubts whatsoever come NSD we'll be just fine either way.

At this point in the program rebuild Pruitt just needs to win games and the rest will come. If he wins 7 or more this fall, and I believe he will, our class will close very strong. And this time next year we'll be winning more of these elite level battles. Just win.

I just told you what's reality. Tennessee is recruiting poorly. That IS reality. As far as being rational, no one is proclaiming that this is gonna be a bad class in the end. But it certainly doesn't look very good at the moment.

Doesn't need to look good in May. Don't go selling the cow for the beans yet.

Gotta say I agree here. Seems like we are signing the guys that other teams have looked over or have high potential--3 stars with strong intangibles (outside of a couple..Bailey, etc). Of course, recruiting picks up steam for those guys later which says alot about their ability to scout players. I trust those guys will be good ones. But I'm ready to see this staff, with their recruiting pedigree, to start winning some of these high rated recruiting battles.

Still think we are going to have a solid class. I know we are in on 4 and 5 star studs. But at the present moment, we are getting beat in recruiting.

Wasn’t in this thread lol or I would have saw it. I generally Never browse other threads. 😂 However, I am glad you’re hearing it’s still a discussion. I have heard from two folks that the commitment interview/video has been done by Rusty
Looks like a troll job they pulled with your interview of his friend and the old pic of Tate decked out in UT gear.

We are losing in recruiting because we lose to Vanderbilt. This is VN so we are a top-tier program on this site, but that's not reality.

I don't know why everyone is freaking out. He grew up a Vols fans. That means he's going somewhere other than Tennessee

Kids his age have seen us win an overall total of 1 more game than Vanderbilt since they were in elementary school (from 2011 - 2019).

*Fast forward 5 months* Tennessee is 24th in the country in the team recruiting rankings* "It's all good. It's only October. The first signing day is 2 months away. Plus, we have 4 months until February signing day. This staff is gonna close strong." I can forsee it already.

As far as competition goes In the past 2 years Georgia has gotten 3 5-stars and 4 4-stars on the offensive line, and they currently have a 5-star and a 4-star committed. We have 2 4-stars and 2 5-stars commits in that time frame, none committed for this class, and our best o-lineman may never play another snap. Playing time should fall in our favor
