'19 GA OL Wanya Morris (Tennessee signee)

btw I think the stars in titles look like poop

I don't care for them either. Plus, it is just more work for the Mods whenever updates come out and we all we the thread titles to affect all our players' upward star bumps.

I would reserve it for 5 star commits only.

Still not feeling good about this. Maybe it’s my battered vol syndrome
By all accounts we are one of the only teams he is considering and seem to be in very good shape for him. He's a five star that other teams are fighting for which you have to expect. Its definitely bvs.

Rather be on the side that has his commitment, anytime.

Its always good for us when a recruit says that another school was his dream school.

Guess you don't know about a certain All-SEC player on our team and who his dream school was......

When they committed to us before they said it? Yeah.

Right? You mean like Trey Smith? (Thanks for that bit of info a while back btw 😉)

That was before 4-8. Hopefully Morris stays committed. But to think there is absolutely nothing to be convrned about when a recruit talks about another school being a dream school is a little shortsighted imho.

I think moving the signing date up is making the season's events 1000x more important to recruits. When they all signed in February it gave coaches a month plus to give them some perspective and let emotions settle. Now so much of that is gone. It is vital I think that if we go 6-6, that we at least be competitive in every game.

Podcast interviews with Wanya Morris, Zion Puckett and Owen Pappoe, in that order.

Schools Hot After 5-Star OL Wanya Morris, Despite Tennessee Commitment - SEC Recruiting Buzz w/ Keith and Kipp

With Morris it ultimately boils down to what his mother tells him to do and that's why I think he'll honor his commitment even though he may sound a little squishy.
Morris may have expected his commitment to have a greater impact on getting other top players. This class is decent but it isn’t close to what the big dogs are doing. Morris is well aware.
Ultimately, UT is going to have to win to get street cred.

Disagree. Our OL will look night and day this year. Ultimately Morris knows where one of the best Offensive line coaches in the country is and that is at UT.

Folks are looking past the Pappoe dynamic in these recent reports. It's been mentioned that Pruitt is playing the long game for his committment. Wouldn't surprise me if the Wanya relationship helps rekindle Pappoe's love for the Big Orange. If we have a hype season with individual success and a national upset (or two), then could that encourage wavering from Pappoe? Absolutely, although it could be summed up as wishful thinking on my part.
