'19 GA OL Wanya Morris (Tennessee signee)

I thought the same. Had to Google it.
Makes sense. The labrum is a muscle that surrounds the socket to keep it in place. Dislocated my shoulder working, 300 lbs jerked it out. When I had surgery they said the labrum was completely under my socket and some broke jagged bones they had to grind down.

Sounds painful.

One I read says recovery usually 4-6 months. Surgery in January should have him cleared mid-June at the latest. Missing Spring would hurt but I don't think it means he would have to redshirt.

it's not red shirting that worries me. it's getting an EE that can't freaking contribute.

The rest of that article is really great. This kid is an incredible person. And the more I hear about pruitts recruiting “pitch”, or lack thereof, the easier it is to see why he’s so good on the trail.

Wanya and his mom’s description of Jones and his staff are telling.
Oof...

But... that's what he meant. If he's not contributing, they likely try to redshirt him. Those are the two likely options.
i don't think we can afford to RS him. and i doubt seriously that's a) part of the plan for Morris b) ever been discussed as an option.

no, he'll contribute. he has to. and he'll be behind the 8 ball develomentally because of rehab and missing spring.

i'm not freaking out or anything, i'm just tired of hearing about impact players having to miss spring for rehab or due to injury.

they are absolutely going to count on Morris playing this year....no matter what.

yeah. that's fine. i'm just tired of hearing about supposed impact players missing spring practice. it's just getting old. that's all.
Yep. Frustrating being a UT fan right now. Old Coaching buddy of mine reminded me the other day how it was when Alabama had Dubose, Shula, Franchione, etc. , then it looked like RIch Rod was going to take the job and everybody was pumped. He changed his mind and they ended up with Saban and everyone was hacked off. You never know.

Sounds painful.
I lived, but had to drive from Houma LA to Jackson TN in my car, a stick shift. Lucky it was my left arm so I could shift. Did not trust those docs down there. Glad I came up here . Dr. Nord from Sprorts Orthopedic and spina was a Shoulder specialist. Taught how to perform surgery and actually invented some instruments to make in less invasive. Got like 6, 1/4 in. Scars. So hardly visible.

Injuries are injuries, it can't be helped. At least would rather have him rehabbing at our facilities than his high school, more likely to speed up his recovery that way.
either way. i've already responded abou this. it just sucks we are getting an EE that won't be participating in spring. "here's this shiny new toy you've been asking for, for over a year....but you can't do anything with it for another 6 months...we'r'e gonna set it here on the shelf so you can look at it though"

i'm not sure how those two things are comparable, but ok. hopefully it works out. agreed.

So you’re tired of life happening to you. Open to solutions.

Geez at least he gets here early to fix whatever it is. Sucks not to have him for spring if true but he is more needed in fall
At least if he’s going to have to recover he’ll have the absolute best physical therapy the country has to offer, daily, whenever he needs it. Much better than signing now and not getting to school until May. I hope he lives in the training room

agreed.

You have a glenoid labrum in your shoulder. You also have a labrum in the acetabulum of your hip. They are both made of cartilage and are static stabilizers that work to deepen the "socket" of both of those joints.

Just means he has a strange job in which people could stare at him while he's on the john
Given the ZJ quote from Beerfest in which the speaker was a male prostitute. That is why I wouldnt say on the john at work when associated with that quote due to it implying that you are a male prostitute.
