Would think it would depend on the OC hire. We might have already agreed to let someone coach QBs. But definitely wouldn’t mind swapping Osovet to WR, and letting YAC coach RBs.

With our previous experience, we should know by now that WR’s need more extensive teaching than RB’s. Johnson needs to stay there.

Maybe. But the position that Pruitt interviewed Osovet for was WR and Johnson does have experience coaching RBs. The best one year improvement I’ve ever seen in our WRs was when Trooper moved from RB coach. Doesn’t mean it would work again or that we necessarily should but it’s not the worst idea. I did notice that Chip Long (my number one choice) doesn’t coach QBs. He usually coaches TEs, so that would work very nicely with moving Sunseri to QB coach and letting BN coach running backs.

Osovet or Niedermeyer wouldn’t have any problem coaching RB’s. Johnson has an impressive run teaching WR’s. You don’t mess with that imo. Also have Lilly sittin on the bench and he’s pretty salty as a TE coach.

Kinda seeing why recruiting has been more of a priority for CJP than hiring an OC (in regards to the delay in hiring an OC).. he knows that we've had a serious talent deficit and has put a lot of time and energy into getting elite athletes here. He knows that this league is more about the jimmies and joes than anything.

Well numbers wise we can’t have a separate TE coach, QB Coach, WR coach and a new OC. The scenario you mentioned could definitely work out if Friend were the OC and Oline coach. Outside of the numbers everything you mentioned sounds great.

I’m aware. I’m just talking options. As you mentioned earlier, it depends on the choice. Helton manned two spots so replacing him may require flexibility.
