'19 GA OL Wanya Morris (Tennessee signee)

No, but since 247 has dropped him, he’s now a 4 star on both sites and likely finishes as a 4 star
Wow. So until/unless Wright signs with Tennessee, we have zero 5-stars in this class?

[edit] Never mind! Not that it really, truly matters, but it's nice to see some in the 5-star column on the 247 team rankings. Hopefully we add Wright now so we can claim multiple 5-stars in this class.

Ideally, I'd like to see Wanya trim down a little, melt off that baby fat, and work on building upper body strength and solid muscle mass during a redshirt year. As we know, we'll probably need Wanya to step in and start day 1. That's what makes him being on campus right now so important. Even in seven months and change, you can make a lot of progress in an SEC S&C program.

While Wanya does need to get stronger, I believe that he is ahead of the curve for incoming SEC lineman. He will be ready to start this Fall.

I agree, barring injury, he should be ready to start next season. I'm really curious to see how the depth charts shake out during Spring ball and Fall camp.

Hopefully we’ll see Richmond there. Regardless of his talent level, competition is needed at all 5 spots. Don’t need to have someone get the job just because of lack of selection

Looks like they dropped him to the highest rated 4* in their rankings...I don’t necessarily agree because his earning a 5th star was always based more on his sky high potential than where he is right now...but all the same I can’t say I completely disagree with their logic either...as someone pointed out he’s still a composite 5* and is no lower than a very high 4* on any of the sites

I genuinely don't understand why we care so much the difference between him as a 4* or a 5*. Its arbitrary and if Wanya doesn't care, I dont care.

I mainly care for PR reasons...perception goes a long way in rebuilding a program...recruits like to see a program headed in the right direction and when they see 5*’s going to a certain program they believe that program is on the up and up...

I also like to see opposing fans sweating bullets...they know it’s a matter of when not if we get back to the top and landing multiple 5*’s makes them cower more and more

It hasn’t updated yet. They have an article about the final 5 stars and he wasn’t in it

I have no problem with it considering tomorrow they could have him rated like in the top 40 still. My only issue is Neal being rated higher

Thats a fair opinion actually. Didnt consider the PR position.

to me I care mostly about position ranking and generally group national rankings by 50s.

the number 3 OT in the country is a darn good player. doesn't matter if hes a 5, 4, or 3 star.

my thinking on the 50s is most of these kids are probably in the same talent bracket as those ranked 25 above them, and 25 below. where two 4 stars could have a huge difference in talent. obviously not perfect, but nothing with rankings is.

Just how I see it. If he’s a 4* now, it’s not because he’s gotten worse. He’s still a beast of a recruit and will play like a 5*. Rivals “analysts” can go lick a wall socket for being that damn nit picky.

It doesn't really matter in this specific recruitment, but the studies have been done and 5stars perform up to their rankings about 50% of the time. 2stars have like a 1% success rate as far as being an AA/NFL player. Its not all totally worthless.

With Wanya, he is clearly a 5star IMO and will prove it this fall.

Who gives a piss? This is why rankings are a joke to me. Crouch, Wright and Morris were all top ten players...and now they aren't? Give me a f'n break..
