The four-star junior offensive tackle from Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., told 247Sports’ Kipp Adams that he has a “really hard choice” to make between the Vols and Tigers, but he feels “comfortable” with both teams as he begins working toward a final decision. “Really, I mean, no school is bad. Don’t get me wrong. But I just feel most comfortable at these schools,” said Morris, who's ranked the No. 40 overall prospect and No. 6 offensive tackle in the 247Sports Composite for the 2019 class. “I just felt really comfortable because they were like family when I was there, so it’s going to be a really hard choice.”

“As soon as Coach Pruitt got there, a lot of changes have been made and I’ve seen a big difference, and I believe that he’s going to turn the program around,” Morris said. “I mean, not one guy can do it by himself. But, with the work of all his other staff — (offensive line) coach (Will) Friend, (offensive coordinator Tyson) Helton and everybody else — I feel like they’re going to make a change.”

Friend in particular has made a big impression on Morris over the past few months. “Great guy. I love him,” Morris said of the Vols’ new offensive line coach. “He’s really funny, and I could see myself being coached by him, also. I mean, I want somebody that’ll push me and somebody I can come talk to any time I need to.”

“I learned that they’re obviously growing, trying to rebuild,” Morris said. “But they’re also serious, and Coach Pruitt’s serious when he said he expects to have a major turnaround this season. And just to see the players’ determination and how they liked it, I believed in it 100 percent.” His family seems to be high on Tennessee, too. “My mom loves it, and my sister loves it,” Morris said. “We just recently brought my sister up there, and she loved it. She never wanted to leave.”

“Man, great place, great atmosphere,” Morris said of Auburn. “The fans are just unbelievable. The players love it. I love it there, also. That’s why this decision will be so hard — because they’re both almost, like, the same. “The only thing that’s separating them is distance, and they’re only, like, an hour apart, so that makes it even harder.” He said his mother also seems convinced that he might have trouble choosing between his finalists. “She was like, ‘Wanya, I don’t know. This is going to be hard,’” Morris said, recalling what his mother told him after their latest trip to Auburn. “I was like, ‘Yeah, Mom, I know.’”

Morris says a decision could come during his spring game but definitely by May.

Auburn.

It's more than an hour, fwiw.

Unless he means the distance between Auburn and the toilet bowl?

this will be Pruitt & Co's first real test. We u$ually lose these recruiting battle$ with Auburn. This decision will tell me a lot about the new staff...

how? the new staff cant magically make Butch any less...anyway. They cant make his W-L record better.

Isn't this the kid that said he'll go where his mom is comfortable? Well he only mentioned one school about his family enjoying the school

Not all recruits are bought. Either way VQ mods, Chad Simmons and Callahan are leaning UT here.

10-4. was in the mood to speak in absolutes.

i will say this about the entire state of alabama.

Overly unrealistic standards of winning created expectations, zealous fans with money, competitiveness, limited talent in state relative to rest of Country. Inbreeding.

Kinda sets the stage doesnt it. if it smells like **** it usually is.
