Coaches can call recruits during a dead period; it doesn't have to be recruit initiated.the point is it all has to be player led. If a coach shows up it’s a violation. Has to be player led, a coach can jump on FaceTime and say, hey check out the academic center and call this person when you get there they will tell you all you need to know. And actually, the player would have to call the coach because of the dead period. That is my understanding of how these virtual tours work.
When is it only player initiated calling? Is that before September of their junior year? I feel like there is a player initiated rule some where. I do think you’re right about dead period rules now that I think about it.Coaches can call recruits during a dead period; it doesn't have to be recruit initiated.
If it’s over not wearing a mask, I don’t blame him one bit. Should never be forced to wear one IMO. Pretty sure a court of law would agree, though I’m sure colleges are different.
I won’t believe he’s in jeopardy of losing a spot on the team, until I see it from a coach.
Maybe that was a past rule. The only thing I can think of right now is that, if a recruit or family approaches a coach at an event, it's not considered a contact as long as nothing more than greetings are exchanged. When is it only player initiated calling? Do we know what recruits are stepping up and leading recruiting efforts? A lot of this class is not from Tennessee so I wasn't sure who keeps driving to campus to help out. Seems to be a much more silent type of leader than some of the recruits who would lead social media efforts in the past.
-VqThe latest on Amarius Mims continues to trend the same way it has the last few weeks. Tennessee and Georgia are at the top with Mims visiting both schools in recent weeks. He was in Athens last weekend with a host of different prospects who decided to travel there and visit with each other and virtually with the staff at Georgia during this dead period.
Well, to be completely fair, Jones had several high 4 star/5 star players. He just didn’t develop them. He completely wasted KMacs talent. Think what that line could have been had Pruitt been the coach. Barnett, KMac, Kongbo, Phillips, Shy. Should have been a blood bath every gameDang. As other have said here... it’s just good to even be in the top 2 with this guy. Type of player we were never getting (or in the running for) under Dooley/Jones.
We got 5*s with butch, dooley, kiffin and fulmer... every coach since these ranking systems have been out. We were in the running for several more every year too... idk why ppl always say stuff like this.Dang. As other have said here... it’s just good to even be in the top 2 with this guy. 100% agree. Tennessee sells itself, even in down years. It’s a freaking monster stadium, GREAT town, SEC, it literally sells itself, and has as you alluded to.We got 5*s with butch, dooley, kiffin and fulmer... every coach since these ranking systems have been out. CarpYou could literally as a player.. play in the worlds best stadium.. get a great Degree. (That can’t be undersold.. you are set for life in this state as a high profile athlete job wise post graduation/or etc)
Plus you can walk to the river and toss a line in the river. If the chicks ain’t biting, bet the catfish are.
