Shor said he learned of his offer from Tennessee’s new staff Tuesday during a conversation with Elarbee, who spent the past five years working with Heupel at Missouri and UCF. Shor said Elarbee “really liked how aggressive I am” and “how fast I am off the ball.”

Since then, the Vols have stayed in frequent contact with Shor.

“They’ve texted me every day since the offer,” he said Monday. “Coach Heupel has reached out a couple of times.”
