‘23 GA OT Shamurad Umarov (Tennessee commit)

“I was expecting it to be really loud, but man, holy cow,”

“It was more than I could ever imagine. I thought about how loud it was, and how it was louder on the field, so it must have been difficult to hear and difficult for Florida to play. The adrenaline rush was insane.”

“I experienced the Vol Walk which was really cool,”

“A bunch of people noticed me and called my name. It was pretty cool to see. I also got to see all of the commits which was awesome. We all got to connect and hang out after the game. It was cool to see all of the people I knew.”

“They killed it,”

“The offensive line killed it, too, so I’m really pumped to see myself develop.”

“A couple schools have still been texting me like Auburn, but it’s strictly Tennessee,”

“I’m not taking any other visits. I’m trying to be at every Tennessee home game the rest of the season.”

Umarov announced his commitment to Tennessee more than three months ago, picking the Vols over Georgia, Michigan State and LSU on July 8 after taking official visits to all four schools in June. His official visit to Tennessee the weekend of June 24 was his third trip to Knoxville since late January. The Vols gave him his second SEC offer in late October 2021 and had made him a priority for months. The 6-foot-6, 337-pound Umarov is a physically imposing lineman with plenty of athleticism, and he has continued to climb in the rankings since committing to Tennessee.
