'20 GA QB Harrison Bailey (UT SIGNEE)

Some people in here acting like HB is some bum because he doesn’t have any college experience. While that is true, we haven’t really seen any of our guys currently on roster just take the job at any point this season. In a perfect world HB would ride pine for a year but we aren’t in that position currently. We’ve had over 20 true freshmen play this season because they had too. And there will be another large group of freshman playing next year.

I understand the college experience argument up to a point. But this kid has played every single game from the time he was a freshman, barring injury in 7A football in Georgia and (I know) but he’s also taken rep after rep in 7v7 Since forever. So it’s not like this kid hasn’t been playing against some of the best talent in the country for years. I hope someone steps up next year and solidifies the QB spot, but if not, I have no problem rolling with this kid.
Don’t think anyone used the word bum. He is extremely talented.

EVERYONE thinks he’s the second coming of those guys or whatever you said and NO ONE takes time away from their criminal pumping of sunshine to ask how YOU feel about it...very disappointed in my fellow human beings right now. Ain’t gonna lie. 😔

Sure, whatever you say there super hero. Just like no one asked for your opinion yet here you are. I never said he wasn't talented, but the expectations are waaaaay over to the unrealistic side with him. Reality is going to be somewhere in the middle. I'll wait and see before anointing anyone the next best thing.

They played Parkview who has 8-10 kids that will sign D1 schollies on their Roster between now and '22.
Marietta barely lost to Grayson early in the year who also had a similar amount of D1 talent. They will play a Lowndes team that beat Parkview by 4 TDs early this year.
Marietta has 2 losses this year, with all that talent. I beg to differ, not that Bailey is an automatic star in college, but that they have played against as much talent as any other team in the country...
8-10 kids isn't a roster full. How many of those 8-10 were on defense and how many on offense? When he gets here he'll be playing against a full roster of D1 talent, not just a couple mixed in with other kids. I'm thinking that facts piss a lot of people off on here.

Be a really silent board if we had to wait for invitations to comment. I know YOU didn’t receive one, Bunky! 😉 You do you, realistic lil champion. Mine and all the other opinions that got your hair all mussed believe that our expectations are on point, considering his production and makeup. Doubt you changed anything.

If they’re facts that we don’t like. Instead of OPINIONS...which yours were. 😏

My point was that he has played against just about as good if competition as it gets. If your point is that the quality of play increases with each level, HS to CFB, CFB to NFL, sure, that's true, a bit of a rhetorical statement IMO. If you're saying he will fail because he has not played against solid completion in HS the that's your opinion but most everyone would disagree. We could probably agree that it's not a given that he will be great at UT. Crompton was great in HS but not so much here, it happens. Some kids just don't translate.

If they’re even then go with the youth. Having a 2nd year qb in year 4 would be ideal

I am not saying this because he is a Vol. But I honestly still cannot fathom how the recruiting services cannot take his body of work and film and not see he is a 5* caliber player. Harrison Bailey is getting disrespected.
Because they refuse to admit that their original rating of him was wrong

I've come to the conclusion that it's cause he's committed to UT. Though still doesn't answer how Doty is rated above him. Blows my mind. It's ok, we'll laugh all the way to anywhere between a 10 win season to the SEC championship and beyond with him at QB.

I agree. It’s just baffling.

Dude even when pressured, he does not care. Just steps to the side and throws a dime like it's nothing. Throws as accurately as Lawrence and Tua imo. Double or triple coverage? No problem, puts it perfectly in his receivers hands. I'm calling it now, generational talent.

I will say this. JG was highly touted and ranked and his production has pretty much mimicked his high school stat line. All of which is underwhelming given his high ranking.

Jr/Sr Stats - 2511 passing yards and 20 touchdowns (1250+ yards / 10 TD average per year)
Tennessee Stats - 4841 passing yards and 32 touchdowns (1,613+ yards / 11 TD average per year)

Now Bailey and JG aren't in anyway different or similar and I'm not saying that because A happened, B is certain to happen.

I still don't want Bailey to play at all his freshman year unless absolute needed. I think Maurer is good enough to fill in as needed instead of tossing in a freshman. However, Bailey's high school stats are impressive and we have seen what freshman QB's can do in terms of being serviceable and good like the Fromms, Nix's, and Bentley's of the world.

One thing I think could be in Bailey's favor is that he already "big" per his weight/height on recruiting services at 6'4" and 220+. If he can come in and put on some good muscle, he wouldn't have to worry about 12+ months to really let the S&C take affect.

If they do want to turn Bailey loose, I hope it is right away. I don't want to have to play him vs OU with his first real snaps coming in Norman.

Bailey isn't starting next year, JMO. I don't think Pruitt nor Chaney want to throw a true freshmen into the fire, which is why they were so hesitant to play Maurer. If JG continues to improve, he is your starting QB.

He did it with Maurer and it did inject some life into the team with big plays.

A UGA fan on the GA high school message board that claims to be well connected says UGA is putting the full court press on him and he is going to flip. I think he's full of it and pointed out to him the Bailey was trying to get Ratledge to flip away from UGA. I dont think he ever considered UGA from everything I have heard. I think Florida was the first one people thought he would go to, then Michigan, then us. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

LOL, Bailey isn't going to GA. He hates Ga and wants to beat them for 3 years before going to the NFL as a top 10 draft pick.
