Harrison Bailey was the other five-star quarterback in the class but he’s far from Young and Uiagalelei when it comes to long-term potential. He’s very good, but he wasn’t in the discussion for top quarterback.
Let me translate
“Yeah, we gave him his fifth star because we didn’t want Vol fans jumping us, but HB still isn’t that great. These other two guys, wow let me tell you.....” (I ran out of stuff to say, y’all finish it lol)
Good for HB. Only downside is now the expectation over a vocal minority on here just sky rocketed.
On a side note does 247 composite factor in ESPN, because they are really pulling down our class.
Started to like this because you brought the info and some was good...but some of it makes you want to scratch your head.More from Rivals
Bailey is a tough comparison because he does everything well but doesn’t stand out in one particular area. However he’s just a winner and a leader, and he will compete early for a starting job. He has improved his ability to improvise and extend the play and that’s crucial.
He can't play the ukuleleIn this case...nah.
His Marietta team beat 5 Nationally ranked teams this year- inluding a Lowndes team who stomped the Florida 4A State Champions.
He's not a great runner but he can make you respect it. And he's very accurate. Sometimes takes sacks when he doesn't need to. But there really wasn't a better QB east of the Mississippi.
Sorry but Bailey is every bit the pure passing QB that Young or DJ is. The only reason they are saying he isn’t close is because who the other 2 are committed to.

The actual progress is what matters.“Bailey has been in this discussion for the past year. He has always been a strong passer that put up big numbers, but his off-season training really took his game to the next level. The Tennessee signee really improved his mobility. He became able to extend the play outside the pocket and continued to throw dimes on the move and down the field. He led his team to a state title, he has always been a natural leader on the field and his improvement this season has moved into that five-star category.
"Bailey checked a lot of boxes before, and although the is not a real threat to run the ball, he is an elite passer with better mobility, and he is one who will immediately challenge for the starting quarterback position in Knoxville.” — Chad Simmons, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst
Maybe DJ, but Young did put up freakish stats (58 TD, 6 INTs), 72% completion, 11 ypa, 4.5 YPC against arguably the toughest schedule in the country.Sorry but Bailey is every bit the pure passing QB that Young or DJ is. Does not even move me really. We all knew he was a true 5 star for months now. Really dont need them jackwads 2 cents on the matter. Proof was his consistent winning behind terrible OL and the competition he faced week after week after week. Screw rivals.Congrats to Bailey although I doubt he cares about it. Glad he got recognized.
And SaD with that backhanded write up Rivals
ESPN is all about the elite schools... they’ll rank kids committed to Bama Ohio st Clemson Oklahoma all at the top of their listsGood for HB. Only downside is now the expectation over a vocal minority on here just sky rocketed.
