I don't see the big deal.... We literally have the most talented QB room we've had since Dobbs.
I would be concerned about losing Simpson or Horn had we lost Bailey or Salter decided to sign elsewhere.
Huepel is a QB guru and he is walking into a QB room with better talent than Butch or Pruitt did.
What you are saying makes sense in that recruiting success can have a snowball effect, but we also have to recognize that Heupel is literally only about 30 days into his tenure.Heupel needs a high level recruit to commit in order to encourage other top talent to come to UT. Much like Hurd did to spark Butch’s first class, a big time recruit can change the entire dynamic of a recruiting class.
And the converse works as well. Keep striking out and other recruits get cautious.
Heupel needs to have no NCAA stuff over his head. He is wheelchaired in his efforts right now. If he can win like this, then. . .What you are saying makes sense in that recruiting success can have a snowball effect, but we also have to recognize that Heupel is literally only about 30 days into his tenure.

Drinkwitz is excellent gameplanner and strategist. Mizz will be better going forward. Now you guys have to keep him from being poached, or beware the Dooley syndrome where you recruit decent talent, then the staff comes apart and the team circles the drain.
Wait until the downstairs "bar" area, looking onto the field is completed. There will be some concern about him being poached; however, he has a great contract, the South Endzone facility that was completed less than two years ago is first-rate and we are now building a $30M indoor practice facility he wants. His staff coming apart is not even on the radar. He has put together an exceptional staff. He has shown good and experienced coaches want to work with him. As I said before, his recruiting has already surpassed anything we have seen before. Time will tell as it always does.
We don’t keep all 3 their full eligibility.First, can we fire Pruitt and Fulmer again? Wtf...
This kid will be a serious flip candidate if this staff really wants him. QB isn’t a dire need this class either and if we get hit with scholarship reduction QB could be a spot we pass on.
HB still has 4 years
Maurer still has 3 years
Salter 4 years
Is Drink “dynamic or personable”?
And with all these renovations, Un Mz will be have better facilities that Mississippi State. Congratulations! There will be some concern about him being poached; however, he has a great contract, the South Endzone facility that was completed less than two years ago is first-rate and we are now building a $30M indoor practice facility he wants. Oh, please don’t misunderstand me. I don’t blame Heupel at all. I recognize fully the situation he inherited. I’m merely pointing out how much more difficult the rebuild is if we cannot get some momentum and positivity back on the Hill.Jones did not get Hurd until his second recruiting class. Heupel has been our coach for all of 10 minutes. I think you're being a tad unreasonable if you thought he was just going to waltz in here and get 1 of the two highest rated QB's in the 2022 class. We were all hoping, of course, but this shouldn't be surprising to anyone. Plus, you cannot ignore the reality that Tennessee is facing NCAA sanctions and our opponents are going to negatively recruit against us on that fact for as long as they can. Some of that frankly is going to be insurmountable. We're going to lose recruits. To be honest, the fact that Kaidon Salter decided to stay with his commitment to us, THAT is the most important recruiting job that Heupel has done since he got here.
Absolutely agree and I’m not blaming Heupel at all. He’s a victim of circumstance. My blame is all on the previous staffs and administrations that have routinely failed this program. What you are saying makes sense in that recruiting success can have a snowball effect, but we also have to recognize that Heupel is literally only about 30 days into his tenure.
Ferguson. What a wasted talent that guy was. Million dollar arm with a 10 cent brain.Hurd wasn’t in his first class. Flipping Dobbs from Arizona state right before NSD in his first class was his legacy...and it wasn’t really ballyhooed since we already had fan favorite Riley Ferguson. Wearing white doesn’t make you a scientist.
Sorry, no way Mizzou was ever going to hire Heupel. We already saw problems with how he manages a game. The hurry up no huddle put a lot of points on the board against non-conference buy a win games, but against real competition it was routinely exposed. A lot of 3 and outs, leaving the defense hung out to dry. Get used to opposing teams having the ball for 35+ minutes and tired defenses in the 4th quarter. QB talent knows he does not develop that position for the NFL. Get ready for plays were there is only a single passing read or only a run with 2-3 other receivers not even bothering to run routes because they stay at the LOS to run block if the single receiver isn't open.
He's also kind of a dick and does not like recruiting.
I guess the question to ask.. will Pruitt be fired after Mizzou beats that azz in 2019 or 2020?
I'm just wondering how much longer until Pruitt is the DC at Mizzou beating Tenner azz. .
Heupel has a hard charge to complete. I think ill be scrapping my pants when he, unexpectedly, starts putting up points and winning games he shouldn't.Absolutely agree and I’m not blaming Heupel at all. He’s a victim of circumstance. My blame is all on the previous staffs and administrations that have routinely failed this program.
