'22 GA QB Sam Horn (Mizzou commit)

This idea is what sort of justifies my suggestion the night of his commitment that the timing of his decision and public commitment were essentially a big FU to Tennessee 48 hours after Simpson committed to Bama.

Decision had nothing to do with Heupel, and essentially nothing he could do to change his mind. His feelings were hurt and he was ready to let the world know it.

So you are a mind reader.

Agree. Last coach didn’t recruit me so the whole university can suck it even though the new coach wants me to be a Vol. weak honestly.

So Horn’s only reason for committing to Mizzou was because the previous coaching staff ignored him? If he really wanted revenge for being ignored, wouldn’t he have delayed his announcement for a couple months so Hoeple would have to waste time on him? Instead, he contacted the schools who were going hard after him and gave them a heads up before going public. I think that showed some class.

I think it’s pressure from coaches who tell these guys that they need their commitment because they plan to build the rest of the class around the QB. It seems to be a good strategy.

We killed Mizz last year, one of the only teams we beat. If we win this year it'll be 3 in a row, should be an easy sell along with distance from home.

You posted while I was typing but I think what Simpson said, for those who listened to anything after the RT cry, was that he has more faith in the development he will receive while riding pine for 2-3 years at Bama followed by a shot at one year of starting than he does in 2-3 years of starting somewhere else. He didn't say it, but he'll take a lot less live hits following that path as well. These kids aren't stupid. They saw what happened to Bailey when Pruitt threw him in there last year. That is why you stack elite QBs in every class, if you can.
That may be what he’s saying now but I bet he changes his mind when he’s sitting on the bench and all the players who are contributing are celebrating wins.. Seeing others getting the glory to someone who is use to being the guy is difficult for some.
It’s petty but I hope he’s miserable..

Just as significant as Missouri winning two Eastern Division Titles since UT won their last one.

Cute.

But whipping Missouri the last two years is a little more relevant than what happened when young Horn was 10 — two head coaches ago at both schools.

We really got the Horn/Missouri army up in here, huh?

Yes. This. QBs are usually some of the first to commit and then actively recruit their future teammates. Can’t recall the last time I saw a QB wait till signing day to make an announcement. Heupel is at a disadvantage as all the ‘22 guys are announcing now. ‘23 will be hist first real shot at landing “his” QB.

4-star QB Corral signs with Ole Miss after surprise flip

Bryce Young also flipped to Bama in Sept.

QBs can always flip

Need to get a QB like you do so in every class this year. Mainly work on the defensive side of the ball with our three excellent recruiters in Banks, Garner, and Jean-Mary in 2022 plus any depth issues with the offense. Pursue the 2023 QB and show him the offense this coming season where it is tangible.
