Murray had a much smoother release and nicer ball. He started out throwing a little high but as the spring game went on he became very accurate. He is not ready to start but they really have no choice. Mettenburg was not ready either. They looked about equal to me. I watched this game at bar during masters. Metternburg started out looking much better but made bad decisions as the game went on and Murray kept looking better. Metenburg's delivery was also very akward looking to me. I felt the competition would of gone on into fall now it is Murray's job. JMO

Well it looks like they will be starting either a 6'0 qb who can't see over the line or a qb who isn't sure what he wants to do and can't read a defense.

What are you basing that on? Everything I've heard all Spring long had him right in the middle of 3 horse race with Murray and Logan Gray. The 1 game suspension for the alcohol arrest definitely hurt his chances, but he was still in the mix.

Honestly, I don't know whether or not to be excited or not. Yes, this helps us...on the other hand, a college age kid just threw away the chance at a career. You just hate to see that no matter who the team is. JMO

Wow. He was a 4 star recruit two years ago. He made the mistake of coming in the same year as Murray, who is now getting the nod. Best of luck to him...wish we knew what the nature of the dismissal is.

I live close to athens and talk around here is it was drug related. But I haven't heard any specifics.

Everything I am hearing is that it is all from the March 7th arrest. The UGA Assoc. AD has confirmed that there was no new incident and the dismissal is from the prior arrest.

as far as I know, he was caught with fake id and underage drinking, but what college kid doesnt? He was the top performer in their spring game.

So......

Since he was kicked off, does that mean he could transfer to any school? And if he could, would we give him his second chance in hopes of him being able to contribute?

If he has matured from this incident and is willing to re-focus, why not? It would be worth sitting down with him and his family and find out what he has learned from his mistake.

He has perfect size and great skills. I believe Dooley and Co. should at least explore this as an option.

However, I know that we have had multiple problems with this issue. Many of you may say it isn't even worth the risk, and I understand that as well.

It will be Aaron Murray, but that is going to be a concern. Mettenberger was a punk, but he had NFL size and arm strength. Aaron Murray looks like a HS kid. He is 5"10, not real strong, makes Joe Cox look huge, but Richt claims he has the "it" factor.
