In addition to hearing plenty from Tennessee’s coaches, he said some of the Vols’ current commitments — including their two newest additions, fellow Atlanta-area players
Joshua Josephs and
Christian Harrison — have stayed in contact with him recently and have made it clear that they want him to be part of Tennessee’s class.
“There’s definitely been a lot of outreach from players and guys that may be going there trying to get me to come join them,” Williams said. “It’s a big Georgia group. They’re definitely trying. I mean, I’m in the little loop with them, and I know them pretty well.
“I’ve been knowing (Josephs) before, like, for a while now. Me and Josh go back. He’s been on me for a while.”
Vols offensive line commitment
Maurice Clipper Jr. of Milton (Ga.) High School is among the other Tennessee-bound players recruiting Williams for the Vols.
Williams said he’s still planning to announce his final decision on Dec. 15, the first day of the Early Signing Period. He’s set to graduate from East Paulding this month and arrive at the school of his choice in January as an early enrollee.
