Even though he committed to the Vols in early June, the 6-foot-1, 210 pound athlete out of Franklin (Ga.) Heard County has remained in contact with the Huskers.
Beasley saw Lincoln for the first time over the weekend when he took his official visit.
"It was different at Nebraska. I wasn't expecting that," said Beasley. "It was just a different vibe out there. I liked it. I liked that, the atmosphere, the coaching staff and the fans are great.
"There is nothing else out there, so the fans love Nebraska. The team may be off to an 0-4 start, but the fans are still there. The stadium was sold out, they still love the team and I liked that.
"With it being my first time there, I just did not know what to expect, but I liked it a lot. It was a great visit."
Linebackers coach Barrett Ruud has been the lead coach for Nebraska and it is because Scott Frost and his staff like Beasley at that position. He is committed to Tennessee to play safety, so what does that mean to Beasley?
"I kind of like it. Again, that is something else that is different about Nebraska. They see me as a linebacker and not many teams tell me there.
"I really like coach Ruud and I like the Nebraska defense. I think playing linebacker there could be good for me. It is a different plan for me than Tennessee has and it is interesting to me. I think I could have the chance to play early there at linebacker."
Beasley spent a lot of time with Ruud, Frost and others on the Nebraska staff over the weekend. He feels the love, but not the pressure from those in Lincoln.
"I did get a lot of attention from the coaches and I had some one-on-one time with coach Frost, but they are not pressuring me to change my mind," said Beasley. "They told me that that want me there, but they know I am still committed to Tennessee.
"They really kept it real and I liked that. They want what is best for me. They made me feel wanted, but they were not trying to get me to change my mind right then."
Could he change his mind down the road? For now, Beasley is still committed to Tennessee
"It is 50-50 for me right now. I am still committed, but I am keeping my eyes open. Nebraska has given me something to think about. I like their plan at linebacker and the fans were different. I like what they have going on and I believe coach Frost will change that program around.
"I know what coach Frost did at UCF, so I think once he has a little time and gets his players there, then he will get Nebraska back to winning."
It will not be easy for Nebraska to flip Beasley from Tennessee. The three-star has visited Knoxville once this season and he stays in regular contact with Charles Kelly and Jeremy Pruitt.
He still feels good about the Vols.
"I was at Tennessee for the Florida game and I will be back this season," said Beasley. "Tennessee has struggled some this season too, but like I said with coach Frost, once coach Pruitt gets his guys, I think he will do well at Tennessee.
"I like how the defense is playing and the coaching staff there is great. The communication is still good and I would say I am still solid to Tennessee.
"I am getting out now to take visits and make sure of everything. Nebraska was a great visit, but I am still good with Tennessee right now."
Beasley said he is still debating if he wants to graduate early or not.
