This is what I’m wondering. Seems like this happens every year where the communication fades and the guy finally sees it and moves on

Of course they are. Davis is an elite TE they were in deep with before he committed here. Luttrell is a really good prospect in his own right. You want players other schools want, and IMO it’s unrealistic to think most 17-year olds are going to 1000% shut it down in May before their senior seasons.

That’s part of recruiting at a high level, and I assume Heupel and his staff know how to balance filling out the class while spending the requisite amount of time to keep committed kids happy too.

I understood that the opposite way. Sounds like he's the one looking around, but who knows. Plenty of time before December.
