I can see how you interpreted my post that way. But actually imo, he'd be a great get for any team, including Bama. To better clarify, here's the situation: McCullough projects very well as a strong safety (and "dime" DB), but not so well at FS, Nickel and CB -- DB spots Bama also needs to cover. So I think they're leaning toward DB targets that are more versatile.it's always a bama leftover isn't it? you might as well say "he'd be a great get........................................for y'all".
smh. i'm so ready for Bama to bite it. hard.

I tried to keep it brief, but here's the deal. McCullough projects very well as a strong safety (and "dime" DB), but not so well at other DB positions.
Bama wants 4 DBs. CB Christian Williams and FS/Nickel/WR Brandon Turnage are committed already. "Insiders" say WR/SS Devonta Lee is a "silent" and Bama really wants to put him at strong safety. Bama's FS/nickel board = 1) FS/CB Daxton Hill, 2) FS/Nickel Nick Cross and 3) FS/SS/WR Demarcco Hellams. They want another true CB too. So, even though McCullough is a great SS prospect who Bama likes a lot, I don't think he's a top priority based on the remaining two DB profiles they need.
I'm thinking lately that I should quit posting on VN.No worries. And Don't take this the wrong way, cause I think you're a pretty good contributor from enemy territory....
But I don't care what bama wants, and how that may or may not fit in to our class's wants/needs.
If we want him and he comes here, that's all I need to know.

McCullough is highly rated in the 247 composite and appears to be a very good safety prospect. The only concern I've seen mentioned is his timed speed. He had a slow 40-yd dash time at an Atlanta camp, but it was cold that day. In his film and at camps he appears to play pretty fast. Bama likes him a lot, but lately it's looking like their DB class may get filled without him.Have you heard why?
Bama seems to be pretty high on him. I think his film looked better than any of our current commits.
Id assume the high composite score is from ESPN ranking him as a 5-star. Id love to add him to the class. However, I think him and Beasley are pretty interchangeable.McCullough is highly rated in the 247 composite and appears to be a very good safety prospect.
