They had a walking horse in either the MS State or UAB game last season. I can’t remember which. I’m thinking it was MS State

Why did we stop?

I can't really remember all the details but at one time it was discovered that the "Tenn Walking Horse" was being abused & was treated badly to teach them their unigue walking ways. The State stepped in and did away with it.

But yeah, I miss the Tenn walking horse like crazy.....they were so much fun to watch at halftime.

Why did we stop?

Don't know for sure, but there was a period of time some trainers in the state came under fire for the methods they used to train the horses. So I'm guessing it was for some PETA PC reasons.

I can't speak for the UT walking horse, but trainers would put nails in the bottom of the hooves to make the horse get the high step.

I use to train Tennessee Walking Horses for one of the most successful barns in the industry. I have never seen or been around the practice of nails or acid. Maybe a very small percentage have done this but it’s severely overblown by PETA and people that don’t understand the breed.

I will catch hell for saying this, but this is the first one of these recent flood of commitments over the last month that I'm not excited about. His offer list and highlight videos are nothing special and I don't understand why we aren't recruiting tight ends better.

When I first saw his height & weight today, I was thinking coaches would move him into the OLB position.
