Two players from the 09 team took a watch, shirt and a pair of pants from someone connected with a agent.

This is getting a little ridiculous. A watch. shirt and pants? C'mon AA.

Wow, there are no bigger issues in CFB today? Are they really going to go after GT when Auburn, OSU, Oregon, and UNC are all out raking in recruits? Seems like the AA should focus all of their attention on clearing off their desks with the big time cheaters.

So we could be hiring a AD that may be leaving a repeat violator?

Beat me to it.

If it is true that there was a lack of cooperation on the part of GT, the GT AD under consideration for the UT AD position should be immediately dropped from consideration.

End of story.

NCAA places Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on four years' probation - ESPN

The NCAA's Committee on Infractions has placed Georgia Tech on four years' probation, vacated its 2009 ACC football championship game victory and placed limits on men's basketball scholarships after citing the school with rules violations, including failure to cooperate with its investigation.

"According to the committee, the university's failure to cooperate and meet the obligations of membership compounded the seriousness of the case by adding onto what was originally an isolated instance of impermissible benefits and preferential treatment," the NCAA said in a prepared statement.

$312 just cost GT an ACC title and $100k

I'm now nervous about Tennessee.

I thought we would get hit a little but damn NCAA ain't joking.

I think that some of the violations occurred while they were on probation from instances happening in the 90's that was uncovered in like 2005, thus making it a little worse.

This is the important statement here and if I'm not mistaken, UT was commended for its cooperation with the NCAA.

It's also the primary reason their AD should no longer be considered for UT's AD position.
