'19 GA WR Jadon Haselwood (Oklahoma commit)

I mean his accuracy and arm strength definitely improved this year. So I think he is okay there.

I think his decision making did,if you think about it he kinda had the same issues JG had with staying in the pocket to long and not being really accurate in my opinion,I didint really see enough of him in situations to agree or disagree but I know those issues were glaring before.

Can’t expect freshmen to fix that OL tho

Unless you get lucky and they are Tunsil and Leatherwood types

Good thing players improve year to year. (Most players anyways) we have serviceable lineman and plenty of help coming in so it shouldn’t be bad this year.

I think the bigger issue when he was younger was him doing completely the opposite he wanted to escape the pocket and run. Then his sophomore year he tried to throw more. Then this year he had a more complete game.

I remember Saban saying that when he was younger and after that by him trying to be a passer he stayed in the pocket to long and his accuracy was exposed as a weakness but as you stated now he has figured out his complete game.

It just all comes with coaching. Which worries me about our current QB, because I haven’t seen those types of improvements over his 3 years.

At all! You’re right! He gradually made improvements like you said every year kinda makes you wonder what our position coaches are doing🤔 I just really hope these qb’s behind JG are better and beat him out this spring.

They didn’t do a good job in the Butch Jones era. After Dobbs left we had no plan for QB and had no development, hence why we had multiple guys leave and be successful elsewhere.

I don’t wish JG a bad year but whoever we get as OC/QB coach I expect him to help JG improve and if JG doesn’t improve I hope he moves to a QB who will.

That wasn’t fair of me to say so I take it back! But this O-line doesn’t help him at all so I’ll give him a break but from last year to this year I noticed he avoided pressure and got out of the pocket better than years previous so that’s good,he has more work to do though whoever it is I hope the best player wins but I fault Pruitt for not showing us what the other QB’s could do in game situations,I am personally curious about JT.

Honestly I am glad he never showed JT. Because JT needed to get a full year under his belt like he did last year. Now he can come into this year completely confident with more of a chip on his shoulder and show how much he has improved.

It is my understanding that JT has only improved since his Senior year of HS until now and that bodes well for this program.

he has had three different QB coaches. and three OCs too IIRC. hard to markedly improve if everything changes every single year.

stability and being in a continuous scheme would be huge for our whole team. which is why keeping Fitz is so big.

He’s an EE so he already signed just making it public

Same as Steele
Not necessarily. He doesn't have to sign anything. He can just show up and enroll wherever he chooses in early January, same as e ey other year before the ESD. In fact, if he was smart, he wouldn't sign anywhere so he isn't bound to a school until he enrolls. That way he holds all the cards in the event that Lincoln Riley, for example, takes an NFL HC job between ESD (Dec. 19th) and the day he enrolls.

Disclaimer: I know Riley isn't going anywhere. Just using him as an example in this case.
