'19 GA WR Jerrod Means (Pitt signee)

Deandre Baker, Georgia, Cornerback

Remember when Pruitt went after this guy? It worked out. Trust the people we put in place.

My goodness, half you guys would be a backseat driver even if you were riding with Danica Patrick.

Is this a joke?

She seemed to DNF every race due to crashes. Hell yes I’m going to backseat drive with her behind the wheel.

The disrespect this kid is getting in this thread is embarrassing. Some of you should be ashamed.

Look at the possibilities he is 6'3 210/212 after he gets in the weight room and puts on 10-15lbs. he may end up at TE or LB or SS.
not hating on the kid, but the thought process was that Pruitt was not going to take those kinda reaches.

Yeah act like a bunch of kids having a crying spell cause they didn't get the candy they wanted and now want be able to enjoy the fancy candy that is about to sign.

I'd also point out that the particularly stupid posts come from random posters who only seem to appear when something "bad" happens. You'll never see them in a 4/5* commit's thread.

While Payton and Ellis were the headliners among the receiver targets Tennessee hosted over the weekend, another of the Vols’ official visitors also might be worth watching. Three-star wide receiver Jerrod Means, a former North Carolina commitment from Lovejoy High School in Hampton, Ga., returned to Tennessee over the weekend for the first time since late July and admitted after the visit that he was leaning toward the Vols. While the 6-foot-2, 212-pound Means has planned to sign in February, he said it’s not out of the question that he could sign this week during the early signing period.

Rutgers also hosted Means on an official visit the weekend of Nov. 30, and he went to Connecticut earlier this year on his first official visit. He still has two more official visits available if he chooses to sign in February, and he said Kansas is likely to get one of them. Means doesn’t appear to be the top receiver target on the Vols’ board at the moment, but they have stayed in contact with him since extending an offer to him in June after he attended one of Tennessee’s camps. Tennessee’s decision to bring in for an official visit this month suggests he’s a legitimate possibility for the Vols, and if they decide to push for him, they likely would be the team to beat.

That was my first thought, maybe recruited at DB.

We offered after he camped. So he passed the eye test. I'm reminded of the story Rick
Barnes told about why we offered Grant Williams when only Ivy League schools had offered. Said Grant in his soft, chunky body made one athletic move he couldn't believe and that did it. Until these coaches show they can't be trusted, show a little trust guys.

4.44 speed? Posters be like, "Where's my flip flops?"

It's hilarious. They know nothing of this kid and already determining he's a wasted scholarship. And if we signed a 5 star WR today and he didn't do well as a freshman that kid's a bust, too. lol

It's real simple what happened today...we preferred two other 3 star WR's in Ellis and Payton, one is signing elsewhere and the other isn't an EE so we took option #3 3star WR.

BUT I WANTED THE OTHER 3 STAR WR'S!!!!! LMAO

We passed on multiple in state receivers, slow played our back up plans, whiffed on those, then signed a kid with no decent offers out of desperation.

I don't know how we pump this one up.

This kid is a Vol now and I want him to be great but the fact that people get so mad when people are critical is absurd.

Payton didnt come here and will either be at MS State or Ole Miss
Ellis didnt come here and will be at Baylor but was also considering Texas, Arizona, and Huston.
Means is here and if he wasnt his options were Rutgers and Uconn. Maybe UNC but I'm not sure if Mack Browns staff has been recruiting him.

Aaaaaand that’s how you get your a$$ kicked by Vandy. Again.
I agree. But I’ll walk back my comments if he’s a legit 4.4-4.5 guy. And just saw a poster mention our wr coach... he made a living getting kids like this a Memphis. Still not the flash we all hope to see.
