'24 GA WR Mike Matthews (Tennessee)

I think they may jump Nimrod and Webb at some point next year. Plus one of them will automatically slide in behind Squirrel in the slot.
While I see you're point, I really hope Webb and Nimrod take the next steps as well. I'm excited as can be about Matthews and Staley but they lack the prototypical size for the outside that Webb and Nimrod have.

People seem to have forgotten all about Nathan Leacock.
Well, our receivers weren’t very good and he didn’t see the field… so it’s hard to be very optimistic. Hope he shows out when he gets his shot. Could be a Marquez North type guy.

How many true freshmen saw the field on offense this season? Do you think it's because the entire '23 class was bad?

Hyatt, Tillman, McCoy, and Keyton didn't do anything of note until their Junior season. Several other former great receivers didn't do a thing their first season or two. Nimrod and Webb showed flashes of what they could become and will probably look pretty good next season. Sometimes it just takes a couple years of development.

I hope not. Not sure what to make of it really. Just saying it’s hard to be optimistic. After a kid’s first year in college I throw recruiting rankings out the window and just look at what they’ve done on the field

Very hard to be optimistic when you don’t want to be, this is true

Wouldn't be surprised if we see Nimrod and Webb hit the portal after we get a transfer WR.

Wasn't a freshman all-american, so he's a bust.

The Vols have to start playing more WRs. I have very few complaints with Heupel's O but this one seems self-evident.
seemed like he did play more this year, but I don't know if it was out of necessity or dividing up the playing time. Running his offense with no subbing on a drive doesn't lend towards very much subbing

It was mostly necessity and it didn't work out well. The guys who had to sub in weren't seasoned. Nimrod in particular improved but they needed a little PT along the way.

You don't have to sub during a series. But IMO they have to get to where they're comfortable with their top 3 or 4 and then give another 3 or 4 a series or two per game. You could rotate them in one at a time.

I agree they need to get on the field, nothing can replace experience on the field,
