Ffrench is my pipe dream want as the other WR we take with the instate trio. But recruiting WRs from Florida just hasn’t gone our way for whatever reason. This guy is atop my realistic wish list.

Got to like the last OV. With UGA rumored to be in driver seat, they have the chance to lock him up on that first visit. If he doesn’t commit to them publicly or silently, the last OV is the best spot we could be in.

Highly regarded wide receiver Travis Smith was in town last weekend, and we continue to hear plenty of positive things about Tennessee since he left. His family was impressed by the culture and atmosphere around the program, and the Vols practice session answered a lot of his questions about the receiver position.
Tennessee has been at the top of this one at different times, and while some we speak with believe Georgia may ultimately be too much to overcome, his relationship with Kelsey Pope and affinity for Tennessee’s vertical passing attack has the Vols firmly entrenched in this recruitment.

Another big time talent at receiver that Tennessee has a ton of momentum with is Travis Smith. He and his family have been talking to certain Vol commits and their families along with some uncommitted players who are heavily considering Tennessee. He feels very comfortable with Kelsey Pope and feels like Tennessee has made him a high priority in the class.

During todays pod, AP was asked to make a bold prediction for this years signing class. He initially said Tennessee lands David Sanders. Hubbs pushed back saying that wasn’t bold because AP has been suggesting we’re good there for a while. So AP said Tennessee lands Travis Smith.

Tennessee continues to remain in the thick of the race for Travis Smith Jr. Smith continues to listen to all suitors, and he will officially visit Auburn and Alabama in June, but at this stage, nothing has changed for us as we believe this remains a Tennessee-Georgia battle heading into a busy summer for the coveted pass-catcher. The Vols have been at the top of this one at different times over the past six months, as have the Bulldogs, and there will likely be more momentum swings heading to the finish line.

Tennessee offensive coordinator Joey Halzle joined Kelsey Pope and Glen Elarbee at Westlake High School in checking in on wide receiver Travis Smith Jr. and offensive tackle Juan Gaston. Both of the On300 prospects are top priorities for the Vols heading into summer official visits. Tennessee is still viewed as Georgia’s primary competition for both.

Atlanta Westlake four-star wide receiver Travis Smith visited Georgia over the weekend, he will attend the ELITE Series next week in Nashville, then he will take official visits to Georgia (May 31), Auburn (June 7), Alabama (June 14) and Tennessee (June 21).
“I am going to announce my commitment on July 13,” Smith told On3. “A decision before my senior season has always been my plan. I have been working on this for about a year. I have taken my time, I have built strong connections with these four schools and I am getting closer.
Tennessee: “What receiver wouldn’t want to play in Tennessee’s offense? I have been up there to see the stats, I have sat in on meetings and I know the offensive scheme – those things are big for me. They throw the ball, they get the ball to their playmakers and that has Tennessee high on my list.”

From Rivals:

Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Auburn are the four frontrunners for the four-star receiver from Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake and Smith has a commitment date set for July 13. The overwhelming feeling is that the Bulldogs have been the leader for some time and it would be a major surprise if he doesn’t pick the in-state team in the coming weeks.
