'25 GA WR Travis Smith (Tennessee)

Mostly agree.
Schools need to be right.
The sites just the need the hype!

Most of these guys do pick up some talent evaluating skills just from shear amount of time watching camp and game film. But they will always miss the crucial ingredient of actually playing the sport, and that viewpoint…

However they make it biased when they rank guys due to who they are committed to, or offered by.
There will always be misses, even by elite coaching staffs, let alone the recruiting sites. The world is just too complex. So many factors determine success, not to mention some kids are grown men by 15 and some keep growing after high school and turn into elite athletes (see Dalton Knecht).

For any program you just need a good number of recognized blue chips and then enough diamond-in-the-rough players who turn out to have been underrated to make up for the busts in the first group.

As long as our recruiting is trending upward year over year and/or we’re in the middle of the top ten or better, nobody should sweat the rankings.

Film and the make up of the person trumps .1 of a second every time. This staff has proven to be able to evaluate the film early and the entire team checks on the make up on visits. Love this system the ratings can kiss my A#@!.

Kid will be our Cam Coleman next season. Only WR we have with his build is Leacock, and he’s bigger. Should be 6’4 220ish by time our S&C staff get ahold of him for 6 months.

Coleman is making some noise in Auburns camp.
He and Perry.

Crazy that Auburn got two 5 star WRs from in-state same class.

Travis Smith got his senior season off to a great start last week with almost 300 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Smith has been a good peer recruiter for the Vols and remains in the ear of teammate Deion Thomas.
Thomas tells us this week he plans to return to Knoxville for the Alabama game, as he has cultivated a nice relationship with Kelsey Pope and likes the idea of playing alongside Smith again.

It’s strange. On3 itself has him as the #2 OT. But the On3 industry, which is a combo of all the services, has Sanders as the #1 OT. But here is just the On3 rankings

real criminal offense is after an entire senior season he still doesn't move up.

it's coordinated, and thought out. they want the top five in cfb to mirror recruiting rankings.

Lol they put Will Black (Notre Dame) ahead of him. Although he's good, Sanders is definitely better. It's laughable.

Ultimately it’s about clicks. Their final adjustments will be more in line with what they really think.

They do this stuff for clicks and they know Tennessee fans tend to fight for their commits. They can do what they want, means nothing to me, if the coach wants them and we get them I'm happy, not giving the recruiting sites the clicks they want, don't give a damn about their "ranking" .

Really worried he won't be able to get past defenders with that lack of speed there!!
He’s like a real life superhero in how he can just come down with the football if it’s anywhere close to him. He doesn’t really need separation.

His teammate Thomas really left him out to dry Friday night. He had so many drops. Hopefully he spends his summer on the juggs machine.

Smith is going to win us championships
