Gaffney steals another one!

As I said, at least the frontrunners are happy. I assume since you call him "Jabar" that you're a close personal friend of his too?

The ball definetely moved and wiggled around when right as he was taking his second step. Not sure what reply you were looking at though.

Either way - was it something that should have been overturned? No. Way too close of a call. I'd expect them to not give him the TD as well if they had called it complete.

But seriously - you're blind if you didn't see it wiggle. It doesn't matter if he's switching hands... he hadn't got the second foot all the way down when he did try to and it wiggled.

So what if it "wiggled" a bit. He had possession when his second foot came down (thanks to his finger tips).

He didn't have complete control of the ball when the second foot was going down. He only had 1 foot down when the ball was in control. It's my understanding that it can't be moving at all then they can start counting the feet inbounds.

But you can make a strong case for or against the catch - and it's late so I'm out. :salute:

I'm so glad the Patriots won. I'd hate to see them lose to a scrub team now and then go 18-1 and win the super bowl. That would be pointless.
uh, the point is to win the superbowl. going undefeated in the regular season and not winning the SB would be pointless.

as to the game........i hate the ravens and patriots, but as i watched the end of the game,i couldn't help but empathize with the ravens. i don't think the penalties were bad calls, but that time out that rex ryan called may be one of the worst calls i've ever witnessed in sports.

to give the patriots 3 4th down plays...........mercy.

as for whoever it was that got the unsportsmanlike penalties.........he just lost it. it was the culmination of a set of plays that just got to him. the defensive players were visibly po'd at the coaches, and then to self destruct like that.......collossal meltdown.

billick should be on the hot seat.

I think that if it had been called incomplete, it would not have been overturned. It was not "conclusive". I don't think he had control of the ball and both feet down, but I'm not a referee. The ill-timed time out was the killer though. They had the Pats stopped and the time out lost them the game. The pats are beatable and they will lose.
The Pats are who the Ravens thought they were. And they let em off the hook.

Jabar had both feet in bounds and didn't switch the ball over to his left side until he was out of bounds. There was no way they were going to reverse that call. Even better, the Patriots moved to 12-0 on the season.
Don't let being a homer make you blind.

They would have scored anyway. I hope when the Pats win the Super Bowl their coach and fans go on a door to door nationwide obnoxios celebration tour and the first house they stop at is Vercin's.

I think they get beat soon. but it's probably better for everyone else if they go undefeated into the playoffs...the pressure would be unbearable.

The ball was not planted firmly in either hand when he went out of bounds.

I don't know the exact rule for having possession, but it was moving. If anyone says it was not they didn't watch the game.

I don't think that it was enough to overturn the ruling, regardless of it had been called incomplete or complete to start with.

It would look like a sporting goods store here, then, what with all those brand-new jerseys and hats. 80% of them would probably never have heard of Darryl Stingley.

i think it was complete. on the other hand they never should have called that BS holding penalty on 4th down.

you know, they've called similar holding calls on defenses in 3 different games over the weekend. i know there was one in the Steelers/Bengals game, and even as a Steeler fan, i thought the call against the Bengals was ticky tack........

but, if there's a positive to draw from it, from what i have seen, though i disagree with the level of the infraction, they seem to be calling it the same everywhere.......

call it in the first through third quarter. do not call it on it on 4th down with 1 minute left in the game.

they called it on the Bengals on a 3rd down with us backed up in side our 30 in the 4th qtr.
