Game Thread: (11/12) Lady Vols. 72 - Gonzaga. 73

When are we going to stop blaming the officials and look at our own program Yes officiating was terrible as hell , but there's no way in hades we should have even been in that position to pray for a foul on the last play .

So, 247 is wrong; Kellie is wrong and the official play by play breakdown is also wrong; and you are RIGHT; Got it! Thank you beacon of infallibility.

Women's Basketball vs Gonzaga on 11/21/2022 - Box Score - University of Tennessee Athletics
Thanks for that. The official record of the play by play confirms what I said. 4 timeouts in the second half available. None taken in the 3rd. 4 available at the beginning of the fourth. First one taken at 40 seconds to go. Second taken at 15 seconds to go. That left 2 available, not just one to hold onto. We took the 3rd timeout after Gonzaga made a bucket and did advance the ball at that time. We finished the second half with one left. Now, you want to tell me where I'm wrong? The play by play confirms what I said. Try again.

Four for the game not in a half

This is correct we did not take 1 timeout in the 3rd and we had two left when we did not advance the ball for some "Unknown Factual reason" per Kellie. I still need a definite explanation because the presser did not clear anything for me as to why we did not advance that ball before the horston travel call up 1.

Women's Basketball vs #7 Stanford on 11/21/2021 - Box Score - Gonzaga University Athletics

Let me set the record straight once and for all that Gonzaga is not a pushover. This is their game with Stanford last season. Your not going to overcome someone that has a team as effective as they are gaining even two or three more possessions. We played a tremendous game got the bad end of the calls even one or two of them could've been the difference.

I can live with most of the way they called fouls, but that over and back was disgraceful. The female Ref ruled it our ball and the Male guy overruled her said Horston touched it and replay showed Horston was no where near the ball. In a game like this one or two possessions mean everything and they got the best of the calls yesterdayJMO.
Another critical missed call was at the end of the game with 15 seconds left when the female ref called walking on Horston when she did the behind the back dribble to evade the Gonzaga player. Replays showed she definitely didn't walk and Gonzaga would have had to foul her to get the ball back. The female ref took the game from us, pure and simple. No excuse for such poor officiating. But it seems to be par for the course for women's collegiate basketball games.

Even if I give them that one there were at least three more during the game that were obvious bad calls and yes calls change game outcomes.

We have a number 19 NET Ranking we just need to win some games. Have been rewarded very well for the schedule we've played. Our Net Ranking is better than LSU which is 24 even though they are 5 and 0 have not played a team yet ranked below 300.
This is likely skewed by the margin of victory over Rutgers

the longer we get into the season without a marquee win, this will start to drop.

So when did we take our first timeout during the game? Want to take a guess?
So your saying they had a timeout they didn't use then if that is so the Refs cheated them out of one cause that last one they took was counted as the last one when Gonzaga scored.

Go to the play by play and count the timeouts. It matches what was shown on the ESPN score ticker.

They don't skew anything and it really doesn't mean anything still have to win some games and we will.

In this video, there were still 4 timeouts left on the scoreboard at the 2:00 mark of 4th qtr. and 3 left with .36 seconds left on the scoreboard

Who said we had none left?
The announcers of the game were saying it and Coach Harper in the conference after the game said we only had one left and saved it for a potential five second call. The entire end of the game centered around we only had one because of an action by a player which no one really understands.

I owe you an apology. It seems that the LVs had all four timeouts going down the stretch. The TV announcer said that the LVs used their last time-out when they were setting up their final in bound play so he got confused too, as apparently Kellie did. Strange.

The scoreboard is wrong because we took a timeout well before that time in the game.
