Say what you will about Rick Barnes and the occasional droughts offensively, but his teams almost never get in holes this deep against vastly inferior competition because of how consistent they are defensively.

I think that the other coaches have found a couple of holes in our defense. They have scored a lot of points against our full court press with wide open lay. When their offense runs their offensive sets, their forward attacks the baseline and our defense comes out to pick her up and she passes to the five or the four who comes around the middle defender for a wide open layup. The last two weeks we have given up a lot of points on those two offensive moves. Top that off with us only hitting 20% of our threes , we get down in the score quickly. Cooper is rushing her shots and forces a number her attempts. We have to adjust our defenses to stop wide open shots and stop rushing shots.

This is just “Helter Skelter” basketball with nothing but run and shoot with no idea of any offensive game plan. When we do score, we just allow an easy layup on the other end.
