Game Thread: (12/8) Lady Vols 53 - (1/1) South Carolina 67

Look. Despite all the missed bunnies, to me it was a great half considering I halfway expected us to be behind by 25-plus at the half. Our kids have played hard, and that was really my greatest hope for them. If the game were over NOW, I believe most would agree they hadn’t been embarrassed by SC.

Now, let’s do a teeny bit better in the second half and close the gap!!

IIRC, SC often plays much better down the stretch, so it’ll be a hard row to hoe to close the gap. But if they even repeat most of what happened in the first half I’ll be pleasantly surprised. SC’s deep bench of great players has been the death of every opponent they’ve faced this year except for the anomaly loss to Mizzou.

Proud of our team!

Nah, second half it’s going to be a track meet. SC is going to run up and down that floor, probably start off with a lite 12-0 run.

I’ve been afraid of that happening and so far we’ve been taking care of the ball … only 6 turnovers that half and I don’t remember any of them leading to a breakaway layup. If we keep that up and TK/Snoop don’t pick up a 3rd in the 3rd quarter this game will be interesting in the 4th… they built a lead when the subbing had to occur

A lot of basketball teams try to put the ball in the hoop. Tennessee sometimes just tries to get the ball and the hoop close to each other and hope that the hoop swipes right.

I swear on many shots Dye either doesn't even look at the basket or closes her eyes.
Hence, the ball looks like it is just thrown up with a prayer
And, this year, our prayers haven't been answered

I'm glad Tennessee played hard. I'm mystified at how often they continue to take shots that do not have any chance of going in. I understand how often "moving toward the basket and going through the motion of a shot" got them a foul call in AAU or high school, but this is not the minor leagues anymore. If you can't make the shot, you get the ball to someone who can. That's how it should work.

Let's see, 1Q refs killed us, 2Q refs killed SC, 3Q???
I'm sure it was discussed that AB can't foul out or the SEC office will punish these refs

Auburn about to knock off UGA, that helps our loss look a little better and also moves UGA down as they were starting to threaten our NCAA seed line a bit.

Hey, the reason most of the discussion is about SC is not so much bias, but because it’s their home game, Senior Day, a sold-out arena, and they are the No. 1 team in the nation with the likely No. 1 player in the country, who earned a spot on College Game Day.

It’s definitely not anything against Tennessee.
