Game Thread: (16/12) Lady Vols 74 - (12/21) Texas 70

This is my fear when we do finally run against teams who figure us out, not having a consistent offense flow. We are allowing our offense create a cluster of issues with turnovers and defensive breakdowns. We do not seem to have a player like Rae, who is more than willing to ask for the ball offensively.

Yeah, and Tennessee’s one on one works so long as Texas isn’t hitting its shots and making layups. Now that Texas is hitting those threes and making those layups off turnovers, the score’s going south.

Texas has a very quick backcourt.
They're not easy to trap and force turnovers on. Makes our defense not as effective as our previous games.
And, of course, the elephant in the room, no Rae.

We have too many players who are no threat to score and who are liabilities on defense. Puckett, Darby and Dye aren't going to score and aren't going to play tight defense in a quick moving game. Miles contributes on D and ballhandling but isn't a threat on the offensive end.

So all the other team has to guard is Key and Horston. Walker or one of the others might get on a streak, but that is OK in the long run. They aren't going to take over the game or pose a matchup problem.

We don't have three pt specialists. They would hit threes if they were. They miss wide open ones at a higher rate than the rest of the team. This is a UT tradition. Rennie is the worst three pt shooter on the team and she was recruited solely to shoot the three ball.

We are a better team when Miles is on the floor and it’s obvious. It’s strange because she isn’t much of a box score player. But her ability to affect her offensive player on defense makes a huge impact.

So hard to watch these girls that are not SEC caliber. I don’t understand what these coaches see in them that doesn’t translate to the court.

An actual offensive system can help with a depleted roster. Just like what Heupel has done with football. We seem to still want to just out talent other teams. Can't do that in today's game.

I don’t understand why Wynn isn’t getting more playing time. (I understand I’m not in practice and I have no idea of what is going on in the room) but, she definitely has to speed and quickness to keep up with the Texas guards.

LOL kiss of death, get hired on to be the LV designated "sharp shooter" and your shooting eye automatically drops out. It's a tradition that goes back years and years!

Puckett is a foot taller than her defender why is she on the perimeter handling the ball. She doesn’t look comfortable at all. Put her behind in the post, sit Dye and run Miles, Walker, Horston, Puckett, and Key.
