Game Thread: (23/24) Lady Vols vs. (rv/rv) Georgia

Great showing thus far! Made some careless passes that turned into turnovers, need to be more aware. Luckily we have had other offensive options show up, but we need Rennia to be more active!

Georgia’s terrible schedule is biting them right now. We just need to play smart the rest of the way and we’re good to go.

I said earlier today they haven’t played anyone but MSST. They’re about to lose several games in a row if we hold on and close this second half like we should.

Some ugly ball but that’s what UGA forces you into defensively. Their opponents average 55 pts a game and we had 40 in the first half. Do that again in the second and it’s not even close. They can’t put that many points on the board against our length.

Staiti is still ineffective against size. She has some of the same issues as Kasi. Obviously used to being able to just turn and score. Not going to happen against Tamari.

When Jordan quits making the silly turnovers she will be an AA. This has been quickness against size with good athletic ability Tn size and athletes have won out against extreme quickness of there guards. In CHRIST Alone

We forced a lot of turnovers offense was a little loose at time but a 15 point lead is fantastic just build on that in the third.

This is the closest we have come to looking like a team since Pat was on the sideline.

We might not always execute well, or hit our shots, but we look like we didn't just meet up at a bus stop and decide to play some hoops.

Pretty good half! If not for turnovers and empty possessions, we would have a 25 point lead. Tamari came to play on both ends of the ball. Horston as well.

Would love to see Rennia join the party.

No doubt we could use a couple smaller guards with experience but overall we shot the ball well and won the turnover battle. If we win the third quarter by 8 point or so this game is virtually over. We have to extend this lead in the third not give them any hope.

Rennia only two shots trying to keep it out of her hands and doing a fairly good job of it.

As many predicted Coombs was the only player we had much trouble with. Was hoping we would do a better job on her after the Pointer fiasco. She has 8 in the first half and only averages 6. Transition layups are easy shots though....

No need to force things. If we are up 15 with them playing that strategy no need to play into the teeth of it, or do anything differently.

As long as they are turning it over more than we are not a problem.

Indeed. That’s played out about how I thought. They average more than us and have played half the competition. If we take the defense up another notch in the second half they could have 30. Poor reflection on their coach to have a team of senior guards that can’t handle the ball.
