As chuckiepoo said, there are a lot of different factors that go into hiring your spouse. Just maybe they enjoy being with their significant other. I'm sure you know how much time and travel is spent, as a headcoach for a top D1 team, just on recruiting. Then there's practices, games and promoting your team. If you want to see your spouse, he/she better be close by. Then (I'm pretty sure of this) there are some coaches who look forward to getting away from their spouse for long stretches of time.I’ll get flack for this, but I absolutely HATE that so many women head coaches end up feeling like they need to hire their husbands in order to make their lives work.
