Good game for the support players to get a lot of minutes and experience.

My No. 1 wish for this game is that no one is injured. My second wish is for Jessie Rennie to make at least one 3-pt shot.

That’s it. It’s time to get that monkey off her back.

Oh ☹️ So another Blah game. I see ETSU and Chatt coming up dang can we play Texas again.

I know
Oh yes I agree it finally feels good no matter how bad we look or who is in the game we can’t lose. 😂

I know right 😂 there are so many other teams wishing they could be 9-0 😂😂😂😂 and the kicker is they've mostly all cupcakes 😂😂😂

If we were like North Carolina and Nebraska, we would beat them by 40 or 50 points and get ranked 3 & 5 in the NCAA Net Rankings, and 6 & 7 in the preliminary seeding in the brackets of the NCAA Tournament. Both those teams have been playing teams of little competition, some ranked in the 100’s, 200’s, and even 300’s, and they have been given much credit for the blowout wins, but how much confidence and experience does your team really gain playing in those types of games?

We will do something better for our players. We are playing a tough schedule, but for this game, we will play our whole team, keeping everyone included rather than intentionally running up the score, and we will work on improving our game so we will be better prepared for all our future games.

GO LADY VOLS!!!

I’d love to play for our Coach.

Kellie:

On why she has a good relationship with this team…
"We try to be open with them and talk to them about specifics, what we're trying to do. I told them the other day that sometimes I may makeup something to come in and yell at them about. We're going to try to find ways to continue to push them, but I don't think they can feel that unless they know you love them, unless they know that you genuinely care about them as human beings. And we do we love these girls, period. And then they're also really good athletes, but as people, I've really enjoyed being around them."

Sara:

On team culture and scoring…
"I just think it says that we're really about each other. We go out there and we play for each other, for the coaches, for the staff, and we're just all in it together. We're not necessarily focused on just what we do individually, but how the team does, and that personally, is my main mindset. I want the team to win, and so I'm going to give 100 percent effort every time I'm on the floor. And I know that every single person that is on the bench and on the floor with me is going to do the same thing."

From the game notes....

Jordan Horston leads UT in scoring (16.4 ppg.),assists (4.0 apg.) and steals (1.0 spg.) and is second in rebounds (9.4) and double-doubles (3). She is averaging 5.3 apg. over her last three games.

With 17 points vs. Va. Tech, Jordan Walker has scored double digits four times in eight games this season surpassing last year's season total of three.

Sara Puckett has scored in double figures in two of her last three games.

UT has held all eight foes in 2021-22 to 36% shooting or below and six of eight opponents to 31% or lower. Tennessee ranks No. 3 in the NCAA in field goal percentage defense at 31.0 %

Tennessee averages 48.5 rpg. and has a +15.9 rebound margin vs. its foes, ranking No. 1 and No. 3,
respectively, in the NCAA.

The Lady Vols rank eighth nationally in blocked shots averaged per game at 6.8 and No. 10 in total blocks with 54. Tamari Key is No. 2 in both categories at 4.12 and 33, respectively.

I'd start her and tell her to fill it up. Well, maybe a bit bold but, IMO, it's all about confidence with her.

That was a turnover when Dye hit it while standing out of bounds.

Really bad refereeing to miss that.
