Kind of a cliche, dont you think?

This underestimating of smaller schools or conferences is outdated and inaccurate.

Spell it out for me because I don't see what is cliche? Beating Oklahoma in a bowl game doesn't count because Oklahoma doesn't win bowl games. If you're talking about Utah over Alabama than I guess. Hawaii, another WAC team... we saw what happened when they played the number two SEC team.

Fresno State just showed why Boise State can't win a championship. Their quarterback just knocked out their linebacker. Do you think Boise State could beat Florida 1 in 100 tries? 1 in 1000? No. Imo.

I am using Florida as the example though. If Florida gets knocked off and some team like Michigan goes undefeated... Boise State could win. They are not beating the best of the best though like Florida or USC.

Again... Boise State doesn't rip off this run against a legit team.....

These runs are just amazing.

Poor defense though. The holes are the size of the grand canyon and Fresno State is looking for the run. It's just bad defense in the end. Vanderbilt would blow most of those runs up.

The amazing runs go to Fresno State's runningback Matthew's. He was bouncing around and finding his own openings. Boise State.... you'd have to be blind to miss those holes.

Pat Hill is the new Sonny Lubick. He passed on a bunch of good jobs over the years thinking he could turn a mid major into something they're not. Now he's stuck there.

It will interesting to see how Rich Rod does with the Wolverines regarding moving from one perceived good job to another perceived better job. Some guys like the security of having a job they know they can keep while other guys think they can improve their station moving to a more glamorous position, whether that's reality or not.

I missed the game but just watched SC and it looked like at the end of the game a LB or something jumped over everyone and lowered his helemt intentionally into the QB. Was that called? It looked like he clearly made it intentional to lower his helmet before the contact.

Looked like a fun game to watch though.

This was not called. The commentators talked about possible fines if it happened in the NFL, but it didn't look all that bad to me.

The game was surprisingly fun to watch. Even the wife enjoyed bits and pieces of it.

Fresno State is apparently the real deal win or lose. They gave Wisconsin all they could handle and Wisconsin has been good the past few years. Boise State probably deserves a championship bid if they go undefeated unless there are two teams from BCS conference. The only team that should steal their bid is BYU if they go undefeated. If BYU can beat Oklahoma, Florida State, TCU and Utah... they deserve a shot over any one loss team or any other team from a non-BCS conference that is undefeated. BYU has a long ways to go though.
This is still Fresno and their usual MO. Finish top 2/3 in the WAC, give every ranked/non-conference BCS opponent a hell of a game, and lose. Bulldogs have a lot more talent year in and year out than people realize, but rarely do you see them put it together.

Not saying he'll take it, but IMO Fresno is one down year from Boise away from a WAC title and job opportunities for Pat Hill. I think he still firmly believes he can turn them into a winner, though. I wonder what he could do with something more than area kids who simply couldn't get on the field in Berkeley or Los Angeles.
