Game Thread Lady Vols at Alabama

Holly's faith in Cierra is being rewarded. She has built confidence as the year has gone on.

Hack-a-Russell was going to be Alabama's strategy for the rest of the way but she made her two free throws and was taken out right after.

Second straight game that Burdick has played very well and her shots were falling and she hit some big shots in this game too so it looks like she's getting her confidence back, good for her.

I was one who didn't like that Burdick was playing as many minutes, but I will give her props for the last two games. She has shot it well and lowered her turnovers.

Some of the most inconsistent officiating I've seen. People getting clobbered and nothing called and then you have phantom calls when someone gets breathed on. It has to be frustrating as a player. Good win and moves us into second place in the SEC.

Glad to see Burdick and Simmons get it done from the outside. Bama was intent on stopping the inside game. Burdick and Simmons three pointers open it up a little.

If Burdick could play consistent like the last two game when we get Massengale back offense will get a lot better.

I think the players just have to consider fouls as acts of God. There is no rhyme or reason so it is like when your house is hit by a hurricane. You just have to accept it and rebuild. There is nothing you can do to prevent or avoid the hurricane. You just have to overcome it.

Basketball doesn't have to be that way. That is the way the NCAA chose to make it.

But, what if your house gets hit over and over again by a hurricane?:) While, your neighbor's doesn't.

Nice comeback win by the Lady Vols this afternoon. Cierra was playing lights out. She and Meghan had some timely threes that really gave us control. I really like what I've seen from this team the last few games. The focus, determination and will to win is there.

Were really gonna need some players to knock down some perimeter shots. The scouting report on Tennessee seems to say pack it in the post and make them shoot outside. That is what Bama did all game we finally started hitting and breezed to a win. First half forcing the ball inside resulted in ten turnovers. I think we have to learn when they are doing that were gonna have to take the perimeter shot hopefully making a high percentage and forcing them to guard the perimeter.

Even if they pack the inside, we don't have to settle for 3's. Our guards can still drive to the basket or shoot midrange jump shots. But, if a team makes a point to double team or triple team inside, then more than likely our guards will have to step up and play well in some capacity.

it was a good win by the Lady Vols, the Bammers were clogging the paint up ,till Simmons hit a few 3s in the 2nd half, the team looked flat with her and Massengale out in the first half, like others have said ,there isn't a 3 pt threat then

Carter doesn't shoot many and we all know about Jones woes on offence, bless her heart,i would love to see Jones get some confidence in her shots and quit with the turnovers

it is a good win, they did come back from a half of bad basketball,if they could just get it together for a whole game
