Girls played hard, showed some fight, maybe most of the year. If ever there was a time for the old cliche, "players gotta make plays"....this is it. UK made a lot of mistakes down the stretch, came up a play or two short.

Im gonna have to pass on watching this team till holly is fired. Its painful to watch this bad of basketball. The mens team has a fraction of the talent of the ladies but at least the coach knows wtf is going on and the guys play hard every game. Holly will never win here.

We must face the fact that this is just a bad team,beginning with the coaches and going right down through the roster of players. Hart's Vols have never heard the definition of insanity --- doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. We must continue to support them,but not expect much going forward. I am nonplussed about the decision not to press in the second and third quarter which ultimately cost them the game although the ladies almost came back enough to win. Same old bugaboos -- turnovers,lay ups and free throws(sigh!!).

Totally agree. Coaching matters. We have a 2nd rate coach. Holly is the reason we cannot get a big recruit. Would you send your daughter to play for her?

I was also wondering why they didn't go to the monitor but as the Coach Holly should've made them but she probably doesn't know the rule

How many times this year do we come out in the third period and just stink up the joint? Lots.

DeShields--incredibly erratic, way too many turnovers for a player of her skills. Every game she has these long stretches where she tries to do too much, get it into her head that she has to make things happen--and she makes things worse: takes bad shots, makes bad passes.

Russell: I'm down on her. She is soft on offense, can't make easy shots, and too often clueless on defense. Why do our coaches allow her to keep following her man way outside, which is what the opponent wants her to do so she can't protect the basket? She has no awareness of where the ball is--stands looking at her man while someone else drives in for a layup. Maddening.

Graves is Graves--always working hard to too little effect. Plays too slow and too low when when she gets an offensive rebound. She and Russell together just aren't that good.

Props to Cooper, who played well, partly because Ky. played man for most of the game.

Warlick should have gone to a zone defense, IMO, when Epps was going off in the 3rd and beating her cover. Obvious thing to try.

Several posts complaining no TO called last 4.5 seconds when no TO was available.

Agree poor time mgmt got them in that position, but don't get upset they don't call a TO when they don't have one.

Its the fact that this team has talent and potential and its being wasted. The timeouts and game management stuff i can understand. The fact that as a head coach you have no clue how to coach offense or coach to the strengths of your players and have no feel for your roster at this point in the season shows that you dont know what you are doing. Did we run a play beside a screen the whole game??

Holly wasted a timeout in the third quarter because the team came out of the locker room not ready to play. Then she really didn't chew anybody out just talked and they went out there and got deeper in the hole.

She and Cooper could dominate other teams' guards Cooper is really coming along nicely. Russell should've never been ranked number 1. This is a loss that's gonna hurt them bad.

We play too much dumb basketball--that pretty much sums up this program for a while, and it starts with our coaches.

The last three minutes Lady VOLS really turned it up. They have so much potential. It makes me sad.
