the Lady Vols are ranked 13th in the AP Top 25 poll and 16th in the USA Today Coaches Poll

Missouri is 23rd in the AP Top 25 and received votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll

it is time for the SEC schedule to kick off,hopefully the time off has healed some injuries and gave the Lady Vols time to think about there play so far this year,this could very well be the game that gives an indication of what we should look for the rest of the season

as all ways Go Lady Vols :clapping:

I am torn. Struggling with my fandom for all things go lady vols.

Yes I want and am imagining Tennessee beating Missouri and playing up or beyond to their potential. But another part of me? It's like I have an angle on one shoulder and a devil on the other.

Angel says, Go Lady Vols!

Devil says, FIRE HOLLY!

The angel wins in the battle vs Mizzou because I can't stand seeing my favorite team lose. :good!:

But if they do lose? Another nail in her coffin.

We go into our first game of the SEC as the underdog Massey has it 67 to 62 Missouri.

I will be at the game in person. I want to see The LV's win but Missouri can shoot threes from the locker room. They are an aggressive team and they have Cunningham. We can beat them but we have to play very good defense,of which we are quite capable, cut the turnovers and limit throwing up bricks. Now if Russell was who we believed she could be, we could control the offense and defense inside.

I believe this team has players capable of going to the final 4 but we need to start showing that possibility on Monday. If we cannot beat Missouri, I would say that we will lose several more games in the SEC. If that happens, we will do bad in the SEC tourney which essentially would have a negative affect upon our NCAA seeding. Right now this team is a big mess waiting to happen.

Frankly, I am not excited about the fact we scored over 70 points against Stetson. I am glad we won, but Stetson would have been run out of the gym by any of the top ten teams. If we score 70+, and we win, on Missouri that will be something to get excited about.

I am a read-only fan, never posted before but here I must break precedence. Who has Missouri beaten? Tennessee has had one bad loss, so what! Every team seems to have one of those every now and then. Tennessee should win this one easily!

Welcome to the board! I agree, I'm not really concerned about Missouri. The team will get amped about opening SEC play and making a statement against an undefeated team.

I was watching MO play the other night and I saw the girl that tried to tackle Izzy last year. Man she will kill Mersades. I believe we can take them though.

Wichita State for one, by 20 points. The same team that took Tennessee to the wire.

It's not just the losses for Tennessee, it's also the alarming number of "bad wins" that has fans leery of this game...

We defend the three ball and keep our players in front of us. It should be another win over a top 25 opponent, if we play defense and rebound the basketball, especially our guards hitting the glass. We should win this game.


Which Lady Vols team is going to show up? Hopefully, the one with Diamond leading the charge.

Darth Vol yes that sums it up. I can no longer give Tennessee the benefit of the doubt to any game because the coaching is terrible.:crazy:

Both services have predictions of a loss for Tennessee.

Massey has Missouri ranked as #14 and Tennessee as #28 with a predicted game score of 67 - 62 Missouri.

RPI has Tennessee ranked #12 and Missouri #26, but also has it as a UT loss to Missouri of 72-62.

It is still too early in the season for these ranking to be on target, but it will be interesting to see how far off they are.
