How about starting one and one. TK and Sarah or Karoline. Jill or Sarah or Karoline. Not to concerned against no post presence teams. Strong post teams make starting both Sarah and Karoline scary. Petty proved that and we get a lot more at A&M.
Hope Harper has her act together for this game.

The starting line up I think for this game:

JP at point
JS at wing
SP at 3/F
RJ at 3/F
TK at Center

I would move Jackson and Puckett around because they both can shoot and post up.

Tennessee is the most dangerous team in the SEC at this point as they get near full strength. We’ve seen LSU get dominated by a veteran Colorado team.
We’ve seen South Carolina get rattled by a bottom Top 25 team in North Carolina on the road. We’ve seen Tennessee play its worse with injuries to Jillian Hollingshead, Avery Strickland, Destinee Wells, and Rickea Jackson.
We’ve seen the return of Rickea Jackson and the emergence of Tamari Key to the court give this team momentum as they are on an extended winning streak.
Let me be clear, Tennessee has not reached its ceiling and this team is the one team in the SEC that can still make SIGNIFICANT improvement week to week.
In todays game, Tennessee has the clear advantage in the post. I see different perspectives being shared and while I respect those opinions some abilities of the opponent have been overstated. I believe Texas A&M as any team in conference play is a threat.
Yet what Tennessee has in the frontcourt is the best 5 of any SEC school including the best player in the conference Rickea Jackson.
We’ve seen the transfer from Auburn and her best game against the LadyVols that I can remember came when neither Jillian Hollingshead and Rickea Jackson were members of this LadyVols program. JH will have her breakthrough soon. Just sit back and watch.
Lets GBO🍊.

What is the basis of this belief? Please explain. GBO.
I’m worried about their bigs, I’m not confident in Kellie to have the correct lineups during this game, and our habit of getting in a deficit before actually playing good basketball. Not to mention they’re 10-0 at home this season.

This is a game where we need Key and Karoline/Puckett or Jill and Karoline/Puckett to start off. We don’t need a starting line up or the duo of Karoline and Puckett getting a lot of minutes together, this game. Their bigs are actually big and athletic, Key and to some extent Jill are the only ones that can semi negate that advantage.

However we don’t really need Jill and Key in at the same time because we need to continue to space the floor and give our drivers, especially Rickea, room to operate and post up herself. The lineups will be important this game and I’m hoping we don’t dig ourselves too much of a hole cause I think it’ll be hard to come out of this one in their territory……hope that helps.

This is a winner because you can sub in with Striplin and Jill, balancing the offense, defense, and athleticism.

I would bet heavy the starting lineup will not change.
If it does, it would indicate another growth in Kellie as a coach

Nope
Kellie hates change
JP
JS
SP
KS
RJ

I also think it’s unlikely to expect a lineup change.
The thing I believe that hurts TN starts is they conform to a system/roles no matter the opponent.
Think about yesterday’s NFL playoffs.
The young franchise QB CJ stroud and his elite WR Nico Collins in addition to the DEs, RB, LT, and DB are not the cornerstones of the best NFL team talent wise such as Baltimore or San Francisco but are elite in their position and they have built a juggernaut around their skill set which makes them dangerous after getting a 45-14 playoff win.

With the LadyVols, you have Jewel Spear and Rickea Jackson as cornerstones in addition to Jasmine Powell and Tamari Key former all conference players that are playing quality basketball. Four juniors that were all 4-star/5-star prospects including a McD All-American.
Use each player to their strength and not force players to fill a role in a system that puts them at a disadvantage.
I have notice that to start the game, TN will no matter who is at center or power forward (when it’s not Rickea) try to force the ball inside to the post. Why?
This has nothing to do with athleticism of Karo or Sara they just aren’t back to the basket post players.
They can stretch the floor.
The team gets off to slow starts due to them having multiple empty possessions while trying to force the ball to the paint with the starting lineup.
The percentages of that changing is not in favor of the team due to their skill set. Change the offense and approach to utilizing the 5 and 4 position in the system if this is the starting lineup.

Neither is Jill, though she's several inches taller. KJH said just the other day Jill is a 4 and hunting the same shots as RIckea.

All 3 of them, Jill, Sara, and Karo have been forced into positions that aren't their ideal due to injury. Our only true center is TK. IMO, the question about the starting lineup is whether or not to start TK as rim protector. And that depends on usage of her mins. Again, it's injury driven as they probably haven't had their ideal lineup in ideal positions all year.

IMO two things are pretty certain per this discussion: Sara will start and Jill will not.

Jillian doesn’t need to be a back to the basket post player. Neither does Sara.
Height doesn’t really determine if a player is a back to the basket post player.
Keyen Green was about 6’ft even but would mix it up in the paint.
Karo can do it but it’s not her best offensive skill.
There are very few true post players in all of WBB. To have one of them is not a disadvantage. Tennessee is averaging 90 pts per game with their roster near full strength this season and 84 pts in SEC play.
The point I believe that needs to be address to get this team to its ceiling is to stop having 10-20 empty possessions offensively every game.
Part of that is trying to force the ball inside to the wrong spots because it results in either a turnover or low percentage shot attempt. If this is the starting lineup, then Karo and Sara will have to stretch the floor or catch to shoot off penetration from Powell, Rickea, and Spear. Playing them together down low just clogs up the paint.

Good points, particularly one about reducing empty possessions. In these games where the LVs have gotten off to slow starts defensively, they actually have been getting a lot of stops but then subsequently not scoring or turning the ball over. If you give the opponent enough extra possessions, they are bound to outscore you.
